Logic has left the house. I am one of those who has/is close to completely tuning out of sports, especially professional. It is laughable the millions that these athletes earn...albeit for many a short period of time...how much TV makes off of sports...et. al, and they are not a bit sensitive to alienating the people who contribute to their financial well-being. Sort of an entitlement mentality. I'll have none of it.

I can't exactly answer the poll either. I walked on baseball at U. Memphis (It was Memphis State U. at the time). I only tried this for a year. I never pitched a game (although I am sure it would have been a no hitter), but I threw a lot of batting practice. I liked to slip in a knuckleball now and then, but I got in trouble for that. I could have played outfield as well, and I am sure I would have had no errors and probably batted 2000,...

This graph shows AVCs that start at just below 200,000 in 1990 and steadily increase to around 300,000 in 2004. The increase in WVCs appears to be associated with an increase in vehicle miles traveled (VMT) and an increase in deer population sizes in most regions in the United States. The occurrence of WVCs, however, is associated with many more factors, as reflected by their characteristics, which include: •More than 98 percent of WVCs are...

Could this be because profits are diverted to lower tax venues? The company I worked for did that every opportunity....why not?

This is true....I dealt with this topic many years working for a global manufacturer. We had to fight to keep manufacturing of a product line in the US where it was designed, and could be better supported, because it could be built in China, and although manufacturing costs - including logistics - were similar, corporate accountants were espousing the 15% tax rate in China versus 39% in the US.

doomer replied to a thread Need some Sod in BGP Break Room
Good posts above...I agree: Prepare the ground...lay either compost or fertilizer and till it in before laying the sod. Stagger the sod pieces. Roll after laid to smooth the surface and also assure the sod is in contact with the soil beneath. If you need a roller for afterwards, I have one you can borrow if you want to pick it up in Frankfort. It is hand roller or pull behind, but I would suggest hand rolling on new sod.

I have had a car drive into my bedroom at 2 in the morning. That will get your attention. If we weren't in process of having the house re-roofed...thus there was a pallet of shingles the driver hit first, the firemen said he would have gone in the front, through the bedroom and out the back as they estimated he was doing about 80mph.

Excellent point! There are people who are wealthy who have earned it through their hard work, smarts, taking risks, and these people deserve every penny. There are some people who overly value their money, and will do anything to get it and often times at the expense of others....I have zero use for this type of person.

Many years ago when I had lost my job, I attended seminars and watched videos to possibly sell water filters to help the finances...."buy a filter or be a filter" they say. The CEO of the company was somewhat of an inspirational speaker which is helpful when one is unemployed, and he made a statement that has stuck with me. "Money will make a person more of what they already are. If the person is a jerk when they get money...they will become...

I wouldn't be surprised. Nothing like seeing a 1,200 pound animal do a jump and 180 spin with a stupid human hanging on. I am learning to send the dogs out first.

There is a flock of turkeys that live in the fields around my farm. I can see why they are a challenge to hunt....even though they may be a few hundred yards away, when I walk out the door, they take off running...and they are fast. The scariest thing about them is encountering them when I am out there on my horse. When they jump and fly, it is not a fun experience on a spooky horse.

Seriously, just ignore the facts. I have to put you in with the 90% negative coverage then. And I am not a fan of Trump either...no more than I was not a fan of Hillary. However, we are stuck with him, and the mind-bending that is going on with the media is past the point of being healthy for our country. Just as was the overlooking Obama's humanity...because he was a god to many, right? And, I don't hate Obama, but he was not prepared to...

I read your post as stating that I was not in favor of bringing industry to Kentucky. That was not what I said. I am for bringing it to areas where manufacturing has left vacant buildings and redeveloping them. Frankfort would be a good start.
