You could possibly have the names and schools removed from the information. Athlete A, school B and the like could be used. Just like in a rule book how it references team A and team B. It would open up the KHSAA to possibly more challenges/battles though.

Harrison Co had their 7 on 7 canceled today. Owen is supposed to have their’s tomorrow. I think a few teams got some 7 on 7 work in this morning.

I don’t feel like it’s anyone’s business. It would be helpful for coaches and AD to have a case book.

I don’t know of anyone that fits either scenario. The question just kind of came up in conversation as a what if. I was mainly curious as to what would happen and if either case would be treated differently. The KHSAA can be an enigma at times.

I wonder why scenario 1 would be ok but not scenario 2. I feel like if they rule an athlete eligible in one scenario then they should do it in the other scenario.

I would assume they would be ruled ineligible. It just appears harsh to punish an athlete for something beyond their control. “Hey I know you dad lost his job so now you can’t attend your previous school due to funds. By the way you can’t play sports for a year either.”

This thread is not to discuss specific athletes. If it goes that direction then it will be shutdown. I believe using examples that do not refer to specific athletes and/or name specific schools is ok. If I’m wrong I’m sure a mod will let me know. I have no clue how the KHSAA treats the following scenarios. If it’s like many other things I’m sure they have rules both ways. Scenario 1: an athlete attends a private school but due to...

It’s not a length question but a depth question. Still can only have 4 in the backfield. There is also a strange rule about how close a back can be to the LOS. Their helmet can’t break the waist of a guy that’s on the LOS. You don’t see it much and it’s really only enforced when teams use sniffer/H backs and they get to close to the OL.

The new LOS rule is either the same or very similar to the college rule. People tend to over think it. You can still only have 4 players in the backfield. So if your WR doesn’t line up on the LOS like was supposed to and you have 5 in the backfield it’s still a penalty. What the rule helps with is when a player for whatever reason doesn’t go out on the field. Some is on the training table, which of personnel grouping, sudden change of...

I’m not trying to sidetrack the thread and I’m not being sarcastic either. Is there any class that this doesn’t hold true? 4A is tough and could be the most loaded class.

For the rules link that was posted. There is no opportunity to engage an outside opponent in any manner. No school can go out of state for 7 on 7. Now an AAU or travel team could but they wouldn’t be able to use school helmets. If they play in a 7 on 7 that uses the soft headgear they still couldn’t go as a school team.

It appears helmets maybe worn due to the practice surface. So in the gym I think would qualify. Past that I think one is pushing the rule a little bit.

Yeah should be no helmets. I heard a team was running routes and working in helmets myself. Of course who is going to turn them in? How are they going to prove it? Would the KHSAA do anything about it?

As far heat goes AL and I believe most of the states south of us use a different heat index. There is a military one is my understanding and they use that. I do agree here in KY with the rules you need to have some back up plans or something. 7 on 7 can be either really useful or a bunch of crap. Some teams can’t even play their typical defense unless the tournament allows more than 7 defenders. You also get some real junk defenses with LBs...

I believe 3rd. His sophomore year was MoCo and Jr year Anderson. I don’t know if where he was his freshman year but it might of been Breathitt.
