  1. Yeah, they're good. Their D-line looks big and quick, and they always seem to have good LB's.
  2. Sorry it took me so long to get back to your question. The camp is actually a junior and senior to-be camp. There were a few other quarterbacks that had good showings. A big quarterback from Georgia looked really good. There was quite a good showing of talent throughout the state at this camp.
  3. WKU's camp had a good showing of athletes throughout the state. Covington Catholic's running back ran an excellent 40 (4.5) and Beechwood had a defensive lineman who ran a 4.6. Campbell County had a big kid, a linebacker I think, run a 4.7 in the 40. Mason County and Clay County look to have good quarterback's heading into this season. There were several offensive and defensive linemen who were impressive. I thought it was a well run camp, and WKU can capitalize on thier upcoming move to 1-A, as well as thier new facilities.
  4. Add Jordan Woodruff and Cody Owens from Camp. Co. Both are returning starters. Kaiser-BC Schmitz-Ryle
  5. Excellent post. I love the game because of the life lessons that it teaches. In this age of political correctness, football still teaches people there are winners and losers in life. Football is the real life example that the underdog always has a chance. Young men learn the value of hard work when they achieve a hard fought win on a Friday night. Players also learn how to lose when they are on the other side of the coin. Most of all, I love the fact that it doesn't matter what a players background is, he's your teammate when you line up with him on Friday night. Finally, when a team does something special, it's something that can never be taken away from them, and the players will carry those memories forever.
  6. Boone County FB/LB-Rob Damashko-He fit the mold of what a fullback and linebacker should be. The seniors on thier offensive line were great players. Sorry, but I don't know thier names. Ryle Two names: Gray and Murray. Campbell County Camels C-Kevin Wendlandt-a solid rock at offensive and defensive line for 2 years. TE/DE-Jeff Fry-Excellent speed and an ability to make a clutch catch when needed. WR-Brandon Griffin-An excellent game breaking wide reciever who stepped up his senior year and was THE difference maker. Simon Kenton QB-Elbert-Great ball player with excellent skills and instinct. Holmes Jefferson & Covington-Two excellent athletes who will make great additions to the college teams they signed with, UK & KSU (Kentucky State), respectively.
  7. Seth Tamme is attending WKU and had a great true freshman season for the Hilltoppers. He'll be a key addition for years to come.
  8. Great call on Jason Michael as the quarterback. I played college ball with him at Western and he was one of the toughest and smartest players I've ever seen. I believe he's working with the NY Jets right now, and he'll make an excellent coach on any level. Again, good call.
  9. They are going to be realigned to 4A next year with a district that consists of Franklin-Simpson, Warren East, Logan County, and Russell County. They will no longer play Bowling Green. This is huge because BG hasn't just beaten teams in thier district, they've demoralized them. I think that they should schedule some winnable games, at least for a year or two, to get some confidence in their kids, and get more kids out. I grew up in this area and ACS had some decent teams, but they have had numerous coaches there over a short amount of time. Bradley Hood, nephew to the great coach Joe Hood, has been there for a couple of years. Having a coach there for several years that helps to establish a winning attitude is important, ask Ben Bruni at Warren East. Good luck coach Hood. There is no easy fix, but the realignment should help to build confidence, at that will go along way in building this team.
  10. Western is getting great talent as they make thier transition to I-A.
  11. I agree with the selection of Dan Haley. I was coached by him during his brief stint at Western Kentucky University, and he is a phenomenal coach. I believe that he's either been inducted to the KHSAA Hall of Fame, or he's going to be inducted this year. He put two of the three schools, Bowling Green HS & Paducah Tilghman, on the map. I don't remember the other school where he coached.
  12. Vince Murray and Brandon Griffin are only honorable mentions. Both of these players dominated 4A football in Northern Kentucky, but they can't get a place at the table for All-State. Several players who aren't even mentioned are Corey Farris, Rob Damashko, and Jordan Kramer. Next to Louisville, Nothern Kentucky has the best football in the state. Congratulations to all the Northern Kentucky football players who made the list. Good luck at the next level.
  13. I don't think enough can be said about the job head coach Ben Bruni has done with this team. I'm impressed with how he's turned this team around, and shown them how to win. Two winning seasons and two trips to the playoffs. Keep up the good work, and good luck against Bowling Green High.
  14. With the way the playoffs are set up, I think that WC can make it to state. Their losses were to good teams, and I think they'll win against Graves this next week. There is not doubt they will battle each week, but I think they have the talent to get to the semi's, and even state. No guarantees, but that's why we play the games.
