  1. Bath County 1. Yes 2. Yes (40 players participated in the scrimmage) 3. Averaged 40 players for spring practice It was very beneficial for those able to participate. I think the spring game is great motivation for off-season workouts. The kids that really work can see their gains on the field.
  2. Sounds like there are enough sour grapes in Morehead to start a whinery. I believe I would bottle that stuff and at least use it to drown my sorrows. I guess it is just hard for you to accept the fact that Bath has won 4 of the last 5 against the Vikings. After years of Rowan domination, it seems as if the tide may be turning in the 61st.
  3. I guess Bath's defense had nothing to do with the Royals only scoring 48 points? The Wildcats just flat outplayed Rose Hill on their floor. This Bath County team is improving with every game. They are finally healthy and beginning to understand that Coach Hick's system works. Great tourney Wildcats! Congrats.:dancingpa Best of luck on the rest of your season Royals.
  4. Bath County's Blandon Clemons had 240 yards and 4 TD's on 18 carries (3 quarters) in a 41-19 victory over Nicholas County. He also had an interception on the defensive side of the ball. He finished the regular season with 1419 yards on 123 carries for 20 rushing TD's. 12 yards a carry is a pretty nice average. Clemons finished with 154 points scored.
  5. You do not have to worry about the Cats overlooking Nicholas County. They always have the respect of Bath County. Coach Hopkins and staff have done a great job this season. They have the Jackets playing well in all phases. This should be a good game from start to finish. I am sure it will be an old fashioned, slobber-knocker :creepy:. Good luck to Nicholas in the playoffs!
  6. Bath County's Blandon Clemons had 166 yards rushing on 11 carries for 2 TDs. He also had a reception of 25 yards for another score. On defense he forced a fumble and recovered another. Bath County defeated Clinton County 58-14.
  7. Bath County's junior fullback Zak Metz had 124 yards rushing on 15 carries for 3 TD's. He also led the way blocking for tailback Blandon Clemons who rushed for 203 yards on 15 carries. On defense Metz forced 2 fumbles and recovered 1. He had an amazing 21 tackles in the Wildcats 47-30 victory over Fairview.
  8. Bath County's senior RB/DB Blandon Clemons had 4 carries for 166 yards and four TD's Friday night. He only played 14 minutes in the Wildcats 62-8 road victory over Morgan County. Clemons also added an interception return of 38 yards for another score.
  9. Bath County players walked away from after the whistle nonsense all night. If that game were played anywhere else but P-burg, the Blackcats would have had numerous ejections not to mention two obvious fumbles, and at least two blantant pass interference no-calls etc. etc..... Good luck to any team that has to travel to Blackcat Field and try to compete, especially when the majority of the crew is from Floyd County. I am not taking anything away from P-burg's talent. They have a very good football team. They will have a great season. There is just no place for the intentional late hits with the helmets and constant mouthing. There is definitely no need for an official that turns their head from that type of behavior. The fact is that any team who travels their will be at a very very unfair disadvantage.
  10. The Blackcats have a very solid football team as well as a storied tradition. You would think that they would play with some class. I guess you can't blame the players for actions that seem to be accepted.
  11. Tell me about Hicks. I am hearing he may very well be Bath's next coach.
  12. Bath County does move up to 2A this season. Their district consists of Morgan County, Prestonsburg, and Shelby Valley. I may be biased, but Last year was not a fluke. They were a pretty solid team at 7-4. Their team speed and strength have improved a bunch this off season. They seem to have a group of seniors that are leaders. It could be an interesting season in Owingsville.
  13. Big hit of the game was from Bath County's Wayne Stevens. There was a great atmosphere and effort from both sides last night. This is a wonderful opportunity for the kids in this area. I hope this tradition continues.
  14. Thanks Oldrambler. The Cats are starting to look like all their athletic teams are getting headed in the right direction. :walk: Good luck to the Rams on the rest of the season. We have a ton of respect for Raceland Athletics! :thumb:
