  1. Breathitt made a beleiver out of me .. You can win a football game and lose lines of scrimmage. Belfry doesn't see many passing teams ... Belfry will have to make plays in secondary to beat Breathitt ... Can Belfry win this type of game. Breathitt will put everyone in the box and even Belfry won't run wild ... If they do , Red Army will win .. Beware Belfry - you have to get points at each opportunity .... Devils fell in love with dropping back and tackling recievers after they caught the ball .. Need a pass rush that knocks Breathitt QB to the ground , Breathitt does excellent job protecting QB .. Breathitt strength is QB who can play catch with recievers who do not drop the ball - rare in high school ...Recievers are steady ...
  2. Devils run for over 200 , Bobcats pass for over 200 .. Both teams played their games , Devils just came up short .... Devils slow starts , kickoff coverage and secondary play finally caught up with them. No joy in Flatwoods the Devils are out .... Tyler Jones had a great career for Devils , state champ as sophomore , runner up as Junior and was the toughness for this years team. I remember him as a JFL - Cowboy ... That kid is a football player ... Big shoes to fill next year ....
  3. Congrats to Breathitt .... Rarely at any level does someone win the game that didn't win the line of scrimmages .. It happened tonight credit Breathitt's passing execution ... Devils up 10 in the fourth let this one slip away via the air .... Pass defense hurt us all year and put us away tonight .. But great run for some good football players ...
  4. Based upon specifics from EKU and Heath this is going to be a good game .... Devils will be challenged by someone who can play the whole field on both sides of the ball ( no matter the size) , rare in 2 or 3a football. I hope both teams play their best- either will give Red Army all they want .....
  5. This game interest me as Lincoln has already beat last years KHSAA 2006 2A champion, I became a fan of theirs at that point .... But JC is from NE Ky , so hoping both teams play their best and a real good game for all involved ...
  6. EKU .. Thanks for some real info ... Size wise sounds like Corbin last year , not big but had football players that would hit you ... Looking forward to good game ... If they swarm to the football you can tie up wing t for awhile ... Really looking forward to seeing Breathitt O . A 3a team with real balance and execution will be a challenge...
  7. My point , want someone from Breathitt to let me know about their lines and how physical they play. To beat the Devils , at home have to be physical. Passing games outside at night on a strange field will not get it done .... One dimensional teams also will not beat the Devils unless they can manhandle like Belfry did in '04. Again really like where this team is right now ...
  8. Devils are no underdog at home unless Bobcats can control lines of scrimmage .... Devils win unless Breathitt plays very physical football - sideline to sideline and nose guard to run support safeties ..... Really like Devils in this ....
  9. Really like where Devils are right now .... Whoever controls lines of scrimmage wins .... Physical, balanced play of Devils will win it ... Ivan knows execution .... This years team only gets beat if someone can dominate them physically .. Not happening this week and not sure Red Army has enough balance ..... They physically dominated in 2004 but that ended in 05 , 06 ... Devils can go the distance , if secondary can balance covering the pass with coming up and supporting the run .... Confidence in this enitre group of Devils grows every week.... Several kids playing really well ... Go Devils ....
  10. Where was Lincoln County last year ? What kind of 5a record did they have last year ? Are they a traditional good program , really don't know much about 5a Lincoln County ...
  11. Very exciting playoffs for KHSAA , a 2006 Champion has already fallen ...
  12. Without a doubt for KHSAA , their 2006 2a Champ ( who should have been 5a last year) getting soundly beat in first round must be upsetting ....Please install a 2006 asterick or send title where it belongs ...
  13. Jeepman is exactly right .... I heard same thing going home on "Double A".... Mason went for two because Devils much more powerful in 10 yard game .... Look for this to repeat at the Hank playing on dirt .. Mason had much , much better turf ... If this game was at Mason watch out .. down to the wire because Devils always start slow and it lingers longer on the road ... But with the band , the kids in the end zone , fireworks , etc .. I really like where Devils are right now ... Especially after giving away the game to SK at home .... This match up reminds me of Fleming- Fritz games of recent years .... But Mason is much better than Fleming ....
  14. Playoffs are won at the lines of scrimmage and execution - Ivan and coaches have done well with this group .... Really like where Devils are right now .... Mason has talent but do they have push enough. At home they didn't think so , that's why they went for two when it was a dead even 10 yard game .... Devils grind this one out ....
