  1. I am dissappointed not to see SR. Linebackers Iven Jessup and Jaquez Samuel who according to MaxPreps were #1 and #2 in the State in tackles not even get a mention. Senior QB Levin led 6A in Completions per game, was #2 in 6A in Comp %, and #3 in 6A in Total completions, Total passing yards, and Pass yards per game. Madisonville is just a few students from being 4A but made a decent run in 6A, they got shafted in this pathetically political process. This is not intended to take away from those selected, it was well deserved. I am just a little dissappointed that Madisonville did not get a little more representation.
  2. Madisonville-North Hopkins Sr. QB Matt Levin. The 5'9" 160 lb QB completed 22 passes for 277 yards and 2 TD's in a 2 OT win over Covington Catholic.
  3. Madisonville looked good winning 2-0 in varsity action. The offense had four possessions resulting is two scores and on the other two had TD's call back do to penalties. The O-line looked strong, helping the QB Levin go 11-14 for 242 yds and 2 TD passes. Siscney put in a good performance with over 100 yds receivng and another 30 rushing out of the backfield. The defense gave up just one or two first downs to Union County in varsity action, with four sacks and 5 tackles for loss.
  4. The Levin kid is the starter. He did well last year, throwing for 1000 ydrs in 4 1/2 games before fracturing a bone in his ankle which sideline him the rest of the year. They were 4-1 with him at QB, then dropped 4 of 5 after his injury. Granted, the schedule got a little tougher those last 5 games. They are expecting 2500 yds out of the passing offense this year.
  5. Madisonville won the Austin Peay 7 on 7 by going 6-0. The twelve team tournament was maily teams from TN. They beat Clarksville HS, Kenwood (Clarksville, TN), Rossview (Clarksville, TN), McKenzie HS (West TN), Stuart Co. and Blackman HS (Murfreesboro, TN). The Maroons looked good with no other team really comparing offensively and the pass defense was just as impressive never giving up more than 20 points in a game.
  6. I disagree FC. IMO the achilles heel of FC is their lack of being truly balanced. They are a run team with a strong defense. If Metcalfe can make FC rely on the pass by stuffing the run, Metcalfe will win. I don't know much about Metcalfe, but if they can throw effectively, they may challenge the FC defense. FC has not done well against good passing offenses in the past. The bad thing for Metcalfe is that I don't believe they will be able to stop the run. FC has to many athletes in the run game offensively, and to many good LB's on Defense. FC wins by 10.
  7. After watching both teams, Ft. Campbell wins this one. Ft. Campbell's defense is playing really well and will key the run due to OC inability to really hurt them with the passing game. Ft. Campbell is also not that effective in the passing game, but have two many weapons on the ground. FC 35 - OC 7
  8. I love the Ft. Campbell kids, but if you look back at the past two years their record is 1-4 against teams with winning records. I am hoping Ft. Campbell wins, but I think it will be O.C. in the end 28-17.
  9. I agree, they both need a win. Madisonville may be fighting for their playoff life.
  10. Madisonville lost their starting QB to an ankle fracture in the second quarter last week. Anytime a team loses a kid in the top four or five in the state in completion % and QB rating it is going to hurt. However, they have a quality kid to step in. I understand Graves has some injuries also, any thoughts on the upcoming contest this Friday?
  11. Prepnut. You shouldn't be surprised by this score. Madisonville is a very good team this year, and is going to surprise alot of people. The could very well be 4-0 if they did not hand the game to Apollo.
  12. Madisonville ran the ball pretty well and had the game in control from the start. Good win for the Maroons.
  13. Again, I am not down playing the Ft. Campbell QB. He is a decent QB, but after watching both QB's, there is no comparison. IMO, Robinson is a better QB. It is hard to comprehend a QB making that list with a 50 - 55% completion rate for his career at best. The Ft. Campbell QB is a good kid and decent QB, but not in Robinsons' class, and as a matter of fact many at Ft. Campbell would say that he was the second best QB on the team last year.
