  1. As good as the Birds looked last night, I still think there is room for improvement. Dale needs to stress to these boys how important it is to fall on a fumble, I saw the Birds try to pick it up at least three times after a fumble. I do agree the we need to work on the passing game. Clay had a nice pass to Max Little last night that was nulled by a flag. Jordan showed just how quick he was to get under that pass he caught for the big TD. Wise was impressive at center last night altough at times his snap was low and at Cecil's shins. With everthing it is a working process and he will be just fine. Bathiany played great both kicking and defense. One of the first pass attempts Dixie threw for, I believe Drew almost intercepted. Enough rambling for now, but on one last point, I was sitting five rows up off the 50 yrd line, after Highlands scored the second TD and 2 pt conversion, I heard one of the Dixie defenders yell, Man we Suck. I really believe those two early and quick scores took the wind out of Dixie fast and its almost luike they rolled over. Go Birds!!!!!
  2. Any time a young man has the opprotunity to use his athletic abilities as a tool or a key to a free education I think that is to be commended. A local player at that. I think Duran will do what is best for him and he should, right now the best move is to be verbally committed to UK, if his stock goes up then he must weigh his options at that time. I think the sky is the limit for this kid and hope he takes advantage of it in the classroom as well. I would love to see this kid at UK, but as a local kid I will just be happy he is out of Covington and doing good things for himself.
  3. I know, we are starting off great and we have been winning, I just hope we can at least win 3 of the next 6 and keep it close with the Cards. The Mets are tough and I know we can beat the Brewers, as a Beer Vender at the Stadium it is sad to see the numbers over at the stadium some nights, 18,000 last thurs. We need to get behind this team and give them a fan base. They are not used to playing for something in the 2nd half of the season. 2 1/2 lead in the Wild Card, 3 1/2 behind the Cards! Let's go Reds!!!!
  4. I think PC has to start playing good teams sooner or later. If they are going to be in a region with Highlands and CovCath then they need to start preping themselves and younger players on the types of competition they play each year. I think it will be a good yardstick as to where they want to be, they won't get better or learn things playing Class A cupcakes year in and year out. I am concerned at how good Hop town is against PC's inexperience, but I think other than a little embarassment they will end up alright.
  5. 1. The first big boom from the cannon 2. Jordan Kremer breaking one for monster yardage 3. The annual trip to PBS to play St. X
  6. I have been a Wildcat Fan for 25 years, as long as I could remeber. It is ok to be a fan of a Team and disagree or not like their coach and players. When Tubby takes a buyout or quits we as true fans a left with what he has done his tenure here. I will remain a lifetime fan of Uk, but I refuse to support Tubby any longer. And the last time I checked a slump or downfall starts with one bad year!
  7. I work with Danny over @ GABP where he is a Vendor, the kid has a great attitude and work ethic. Congrats!
  8. Maybe Huggs called him at school and told him the good news. It would be a shame if he got suspended for a cell phone. Is nancy Z realted to this anyway?
  9. HHS! Vories- Mr Offense, does everything a good player should Johnson - Blocker, Rebounder playes hard every minute he's in the game, never quits being competitive Ben G - Am I in your head, I beleive this kid is one of the strongest physical and mental kids in hs sports. He is clutch when needed and provides muscle to keep others intimidated. Smith - big banger, on the floor, on the boards great heart for the game, this kid leaves it all on the floor Eaton - Mr. Intangible, this kid does the little thing not recorded in the books. Gives his all, hustles every play gets the most for his ablity Hudy - Super Sub, the district final against NCC sums up how his hard work has paid off all year, he came in and hit 4 big threes that seperated the game and gave us the lift to win. These six senior are something special, the most important thing is that other than Vories there is no real star. They are a true example of team and they all no there roles. These kids have fun playing and don't get mad for playing time or someone else shooting the ball. I wish these guys the best in there futures and they have represented HHS great!
  10. I hope the birds have there defensive mojo flowing friday nite. I think the two biggest differences in this game and the one in JAN are Vories and Tierney. Tierney was coming off an injury and was a little timid in that first game. Vories lately has been on his second legs. It seems as though he gets tired easier (i know its been along season) than he did earlier on. In the first game Vories was everywhere and seemed fresh all game. Vories did run the floor good against Ludlow and hopefully is back. If we can get Tierney, Jacobs, or Landrum in fouls trouble I honestly believe our bench even though a bit smaller than CCH will play better. Finally if the game is tied with 2 minutes to go I believe the Birds win, no offense to the kids at CCH, just an edge to Schalrman and defense from the Birds. Can't wait, counting down the hours!
  11. I honestly believe the third q in the CCH-Birds game will dictate the winner. If the birds have lead or tie at half, i would dribble the first four minutes of the 3rd to run clock. If the Birds can hold and contain the 3rd and put themselves in a position to when with 2 minutes to go in the game they will. On the other end of the spectrum, if CovCath is hot behind the arc and Tim and TJ are on its gonna be tough to watch. I just hope the games are called like they have been and the refs let them play. I also hope HHS bench can provide the spark they have been lately. Gonna be a battle, can't wait!
  12. Ithink the thing that really killed Ryle was the amount of 2nd and 3rd shots they gave cov cath on their firts 5 possesions of the second half. It seemed like Ryle just couldn't get their hand on the ball and every bounce fell into the colonels hands. Man is CCH dangerous in the 3rd q or what. I have seen them play a few times this year and they adjust and come out so strong to start the second half. I am looking forward to a battle on Fri night. I hope the cheering section is as loud as ever. Also wanted to say great game for Tierney, he took control of the game in the 2nd half. Go BIRDS!
  13. Good game by the Birds, great heart from the Panthers, its nice to see the Birds adavnce but I really felt bad for Chase King, that kid played one great game. If the Birds come out in the 3rd quarter and lag against CCH, they will get blown out of the gym Fri nite. I hope they are ready for a fight and we take two from Cath this year. GO BIRDS!
  14. Great win for the Colonels, I hate to say told ya so , but I told ya so -- on a positive, baseball season is around the corner, Holmes can get an early start!
