closer to the 8th than the 11th
  1. Looks like Scott County is the hands down favorite in the 11th.
  2. I hear Timmons will be back, he is letting his body heal from the football season. The only thing that might keep him from playing is if the college that he signs with is strongly opposed to him playing basketball, but the way i look at it you can get hurt walking out the front door in the morning. i expect the results of this game would have been different had Timmons played. Doubt Dixie could have handled his speed.
  3. Very good points here BlueFan. Many I agree with. I would say TJ is his own man and will make his mark as a head coach when given the opportunity. Proximity to the school I think is an issue.
  4. If he was not on the interview list I think it was a mistake. The committee should have looked at all options. I'm not saying he should get the job, but why not interview him as well as other qualified candidates. Due diligence is just good business.
  5. The ability to build relationships is an attribute the new coach will need in this job. In my opinion Chalk was unable to lead last years team with regard to playing team ball on a consistent basis. I witnessed kids disrespecting the coaches on a regular basis during the games. There were some very negative attitudes on last years team and many are returning. It will be a challenge for the new coach to change these attitudes. It may take letting some of these players know they better get on board with a team attitude or stand in line to buy their ticket to get into the games. The program was not left in good shape with regard to team attitude and doing what is in the best interest of the program. I think Chalk was in a situation where he needed to leave. The program needs to be renovated with a coach with a new approach.
  6. Congrats to Woodford County!! They have a very good ball club that is peaking and have two very good pitchers. I think many of the teams in this years 11th region tourny had enough talent to win region. The team that stayed hot won.
  7. There is some good young talent that needs developing, and a very good athlete in Ryan Timmons that will be a senior. Not sure if Timmons will play as football is his #1 sport. The college that signs him may not want him to play. There are other experienced players that need attitude adjustments that Chalk had a very difficult time with last season. Whoever takes the job will have a challenge with some of those players. Chalk had solid Booster support from the beginning. He was provided with everything he asked for and them some.
  8. There is some good young talent in the program that will have to be developed, and a very good athlete in Ryan Timmons returning as a senior. I think it is in question If Timmons will play basketball as football is his #1 sport. The college that signs him may not want him to play basketball. There will be other returning players with experience that will need big time attitude adjustments. For a coach that is willing to get in there and work this could be a real good job in the long term. Booster support was never in question under Chalk. He got everything he requested and then some. Again in my opinion the biggest challenge will be changing some player attitudes that Chalk had difficulty dealing with.
  9. Sounds like it is a done deal....Scott Chalk will be the new head coach at Dunbar. He will do a fantastic job. Now....who are the possibilities for the Franklin County job???????
  10. Word is that Scott Chalk has applied for other coaching positions. I think he has done this in past years. Will the Flyers have a new head coach next season?
