  1. GHITP--Great Preview of the 6th Region Final!! I agree with you in your predictions: Doss Wins going away if refs allow game to be physical and Doss is allowed to press and use their athleticism to get Desales in an Up/Down game. I just don't think Desales has depth & overall talent to compete in that type of game. BUT--5th Region Refs don't typically allow that type of game to occur during Regional Tourney/Championships SO with that being said I think Desales has the advantage in a close game--They have a coach who has been in a Regional Championship multiple times and I feel they have better overall TEAM chemistry. However Doss does have 2 players in Weaver and TO who can create a game winning shot and a great athlete in Jefferson to go to glass on misses. Final Prediction: Desales 55-52 Hope to see a great game tonight of contrasting styles!!! Best of luck to both teams
  2. Nice Job!! The postseason is always interesting in the 6th Region Fairdale gets beat by Holy Cross to shake up the 21st District & J-Town/Fern Creek battle tonight in a big matchup Also Tyler Jefferson is back playing for Doss which bolsters their position at the favorite in the 6th Region even more. His size/athleticism can be a game changer against many teams that lack size/post players.
  3. Here goes my predictions for the rest of the way: Friday: Doss over Desales (Rematch next Tuesday at Desales will be closer, but Doss too athletic today) Manual over BE (Manual's D is too much for BE & Sutton can take over when he wants in this one) Ballard over Eastern (Too many athletes, too much experience--will wear down Eastern, closer than most think though) Trinity over Central (Coach Bibby will have a good game plan but in the end too much Size & Talent to overcome) Saturday (Morning) Doss over Manual (Doss has more depth & coming back Sat. Morning is tough, they also have athletes to contain Sutton, close game though) Ballard over Trinity (Coin Toss--Landed on Ballard--depth could cause Trinity some issues coming back on Sat. morning after late Friday game) Saturday (Night) Ballard over Doss (Should be an exciting game, athletes everywhere but I'll go with overall talent & coaching experience in this situation as the deciding factor)
  4. I do not understand why Parking continues to be a focus for so many people. Louisville Gardens wasn't the best for parking because you had to PAY to park anywhere close to the arena or park for free on a sidestreet and walk a ways. Did anyone ever try to find a spot to park at Bellarmine while classes were going on? Most of the time you would have to park in the back parking lot at Bellarmine which is a nice walk to the front of the gym. I agree that Valley does not have adequate parking for near capacity crowds but every venue has had it's issues. Get there early and parking won't be an issue, roll in at the last minute then you're going to have to walk a bit. Sorry to vent but the focus should be on supporting your kids/teams.
  5. There are 3 games that day: Gallatin vs. Harrison at 4 Trinity vs. Henry Clay at 6 Louisville Butler vs. Lafayette at 8
  6. Players do NOT have to pay to play in the KY-OHIO All-Star game, they are selected by a committee. (In this case usually Randy Ward & his son). The coaches of the teams divide up the playing time amoungst the players for the majority of the game and then select their "best" group for the last part of the game. From what I heard since Kerry Stovall and Jason Couch were the coaches, the end of the game was a lot of Christian Co./Eastern players as to be expected. Just hard to believe losing a game when you're up 24-2 even if it's an All-Star game!!
  7. I have some scores from yesterdays evening games: North Hardin beat Male by around 8 CAL beat Fairdale pretty handily Boone County edged Bowling Green--Behanan is a BEAST!! Butler beat a team out of Cincy and North Hardin
  8. Corbin does have a nice team. Big, strong and physical and they jumped on Butler early but it would have been very tough for Butler to win with a 54-5 free throw discrepancy, and a 35-13 difference in foul calls.
