I have spoken to several people at the game, and noboby saw anything. I think if an incident like that did take place, someone besides the poster above sure would have seen something. It is a shame that someone would get on a sight like this and use a persons name to slander them. This is a great sight for information, but in my opinion posts need to stick to the facts of the game.

You have to wonder why the Lady Raiders did not get the ball to Burge more toward the end. Don't get me wrong she got plenty of touches, but it certainly seemed that West Carter had nothing for her. She played like a seasoned vet last night. The future looks very bright for yet another Burge basketball player at ECHS.

Look for East Carter to make alot of noise! Their inside game could be very productive this season. The guard play could really be the difference. Also alot of young talent in the freshman class. A few of those freshman saw some significant playing time last season! Good luck Lady Raiders!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think East Carter is going to be a talented young team. This years 8th grade team has completed 2 undefeated seasons, and a few of them saw some varsity minutes this past year. The future looks bright in Grayson.

The officiating was a joke!! I agree they would call little touch fouls out on the perimeter and kids down low could not get a break. I guess the old saying no blood no foul was being used today. I am so proud of how the Raiders never gave up. They showed tremendous heart, and they need to keep their heads high. Even though its hard to feel that way right now. To the senior Raiders thanks for the memories we are all proud of you!! Good luck in whatever you do!!!! Congratulations Tomcats! You showed great sportsmanship and that is very appreciated. And what can you say about the student section, it was great to see that kind of school spirit on display, several schools in the reigion could take a few notes!!!!

Congratulations to the East Carter Raiders!! What a great win, and a huge huge game from Van Burge. He pretty much put his team on his back, and refused to loose!!!!! Enjoy this win !!!!!!!

Well said IBleedMaroon! I certainly hope the shooters are able to knock down some shots. Remember East Carter has beat Elliott County once this year. If my memory serves it was on Elliott Counties home floor. Hopefully it will be a great game.

The 62nd district seeded the Tournament this year. The 1st time ever. Elliott County was the 1 seed, East Carter the 2 seed, Morgan County the 3 seed, and West Carter the 4 seed. It seems to be working out ok. With Elliott County and East Carter advancing to Friday nights championship game...

Tough news for both teams. Prayers certainly go out to both young men, for sure not the way you want to see any student athlete end a season or H.S. career for that matter. Congrats to Russell defending the 16th region title.

I do not think Rick mays is deserving of the COY. He does not do much coaching during games. Those boys basically just play however they want. I am not bashing them, they have obviously been successful, but to name someone COY he/she would have to show that their coaching abilities have somehow been beneficial to the season. I just do not see that in Coach Mays. I would have to say my vote would have to be for Buddy Biggs, it is hard to argue with the changes in Ashland's record from last year to now.
