16 of 22 starters, plus the top offensive reserve and the top 2 defensive reserves, and the kicker, are all seniors for E-Town. Only Gregory, Disney, Becherer, and Williams play both ways. For Bardstown, the Tigers start 3 seniors at offensive positions, along with 3 sophomores, 3 freshmen and 2 juniors; and start 4 seniors, 5 sophomores, a junior and senior on defense. 7 Tiger starters play both ways. Evenly represented classes and the ability...

The Tigers had a great season last year, but had 18 seniors, most of which were starters, and did not have to play a lot of kids both ways. The current senior class has 10 players whom have played very little, and the junior class has just 4 kids. Its just one of those anomaly periods at a school where you don't get as many players. The sophomore and freshmen classes are large and are cutting their teeth, but will be there in a year or so.

I think Talamavaio is back this week on the line, and there is some talk on reignoftroy.com about Porter Gustin coming in for this one. Running game loosens Darnold up. Trojans win. Fight on.

What a tool. Got fat and out of shape, couldn't remember playbook, couldn't read a defense, was no longer effective scrambling and couldn't hit a sideline route, and wants to blame it on everything else. Maybe if he gets in his jammies someone will read him a bedtime story.

Got to see my first game at Central Friday night. It is an impressive spectacle. Best inner-city football I have seen since I left California in 1990. The Yellowjackets are unbelievably big, fast, and aggressive.

In Brown's 14-1 1996 state title season at Nelson County, the only loss was to Bardstown. Bardstown also consistently scheduled John Hardin during Brown's early years there. I am informed that the coach was not pleased with E-Town's undefeated JV team losing to Bardstown's undefeated JV team last Monday night on their home field, in a game that featured several ejections and quite a bit of mouthing. My guess is that if he has the chance to keep...

There is a lawyer from E-Town named Mike Coyle who was a hosscat player from E-Town in the 50's and later played at UK. I wonder if he remembers that.

The Tigers start 8 freshmen and sophomores on defense, and 7 on offense (including the quarterback (freshmen), running back (freshmen), and best slot receiver). They lost their top senior running back to injury for the season two weeks ago. They lost their defensive middle linebacker/starting fullback (also K/P) this past week to injury, as well as the leading receiver and a starting OLB. None of those players would have beaten Central, but it...

Waggener should be in there. Jairus Brents and Manny Harper just are flat difficult to contain. They are a bit of street ballers but they make highlight reel plays, and on any given night . . .

If you do it more than 3 times per year and expect more than $150 each time, you need a gaming license exemption certificate, and its free, but you must fill out an application. Application is a tad tedious, but it should be a no-brainer to get one.

Bardstown's baseball team works the grill and keeps the profits. The marching band and other groups man the concessions and share profits. Football gets nothing.

E-Town is a perennial Bardstown opponent. Bardstown beat them last season by throwing over the middle in the first half and then surviving a furious second half comeback attempt. We have them on HUDL a bunch for this year's Week 9 matchup. They are tall, long, athletic, in great physical condition, and do not make mistakes. Balanced attack. I believe to beat them you need to throw, even a powerful run game these guys are hard to block. They...

Wow. I really expected this would be closer. Central non-district schedule is such great prep.

Everything we get this year will be ugly. A win is a win is a win. Earned a playoff spot. A team of freshmen and sophomores beat a team of juniors. I'll take it.
