    Highlands playing 5A is a good thing. Highlands has won four 5A state championships in the last 10 years. The first 4 years of 5A Highlands did not lose a single game to a 5A team. Fort Thomas is an excellent school district that will attract families to move to Fort Thomas from out of district, BUT historically Highlands will lose more Fort Thomas kids to New Cath per year, then they gain from kids on the outside.

    CAL had a great team, but the game was far from a whitewash. 7-0 with 6 minutes left in the half. Walton player grazed a kickoff that went out of bounds at the 1 yd line. Instead of 1st & 10 at the 35, pinned under the shadow of the goal line. An interception a few plays later set up a short field for 14-0 halftime score.     State Champions in Northern Kentucky over the last decade: Highlands: 7 (4 in 5a and 3 in 4a). Beechwood: 3 New Cath: 2 Holy Cross: 1 Not sure on overall wins and losses.
