  1. Congrats to Heidi and her family. So happy for them! What a super accomplishment! I bet she is super excited to be a part of one of the most storied volleyball programs in the country. Pretty sure that was her goal/dream school since the 7th grade. Super accomplishment Heidi!
  2. This is a perfect fit for Elly. The coaches of LSU are top notch individuals and they were outstanding on the recruiting end with Elly. They attended as many of her basketball games as they did her volleyball games which is pretty cool. Elly has dedicated her life to sports and volleyball in general and I couldn't think of a better place for Elly to be. She is a super girl and deserves this. Great job Elly!
  3. My in-laws are there right now...they help build churches....here is a message from father-in-law.... We continue to experience aftershocks. We have helped ready a make shift temporary medical facility. We have helped coordinate medical teams to come to The Global Outreach facility here in Haiti. All of us are safe, and have plenty of food, water and shelter. We have tried several alternatives to try and leave the country. The Port-au-Prince airport is jammed with air traffic. We will continue to seek alternatives to return home. Our safest bet is to stay put, until the opportunity is available. We are securely in God's hand. We get new pictures each day of the mass devastation from Haitian people that come to the compound. The church that several in our local community have helped to build at Repatrioate is still intact. There is presently no cell service here. Please continue to pray for the Haitian people! Good Luck DOC!!
  4. Heard the AD of Beechwood just let it all happen too...I can't say I am surprised about that either.....

  7. Robin Hood is out this weekend from what I've heard.....Unfortunately that changes everything for them. I hope she is okay for post-season!!!!!!
  8. I'll add that the DEDICATION and COMMITTMENT level of the players and parents is UNMATCHED in Louisville..... Can anyone name a school in N Ky that comes in every morning before school to work out(weight training, Plyos, etc.) , shower, and then go to class....then come back after school for a 2-3 hour practice...and do it on a CONSISTENT basis???? You can physically see the difference between the athletes who take these extra steps!! IMO, this is AS BIG of factor in the gap Louisville has made in volleyball than having a "top club coach".
  9. Steve Howard....Owensboro Catholic He is the leader of the All A movement in volleyball I am sure someone can find his e-mail on the KHSAA website....

  11. I just heard the same thing. All of their local volleyball games are being played at the "away" team's school...some of the Louisville teams that scheduled matches with NDA will be played at either Thomas More or NKU.
  12. Honestly, while I agree with so many things you state, I disagree with this one..... Besides a handful of volleyball parents and the v-ball coach, no one was outspoken on the ordeal. Thought more coaches and the band director would join the cause as this precedent that has been set by the administration could possibly effect one of their programs in the future. As a matter of fact...these same few volleyball parents tried to drum up support from parents from the band and football team to stand up for the facts being presented ......They saw NO ONE from either band or football faithful at the meetings. On the flip side, I can also see why none of the coaches spoke out publically. Quick....$$$$ talks....and you know the people who have used that trump card recently to get their wishes! Obviously SBDM did not care either...they knew the IMMEDIATE impact it would have on the volleyball program...not to mention they went against their own rule and started a soccer program with less than 16 girls!!!!!
  13. You are 100% correct....it has only been that way for 6 years or so. Not trying to minimize the impact Football has on Beechwood......Just stating that the V-ball program was self-sufficient as of recent. Everyone knows Beechwood Football without a doubt IS Beechwood's backbone....it wouldn't stand without it! The football team has ALWAYS supported the v-ball program. They get psyched up for the v-ball games...they are definitley a 7th player on the court for the girls!!!! There is nothing but LOVE for Noel and the Tigers!
