  1. They do not have to recruit. The tradition and excellence of the football programs at Trinity and St. X sell themselves. So while the recruiting accusations may be off base, it is safe to say that plenty of young men "pay their way" to go there for the specific purpose of playing football. Just because it is legal does not mean that everyone has to agree that it is fair. If kids in the city of Lexington or any city around the state for that matter, could ignore districting and just flock to one school, perhaps that school could be built into a perennial power as well. It seems as if a lot of people around the state are growing tired of one of these two schools always showing up in the 4A title game, so now that both teams are in it, it just makes it that much more painful to watch. A lot of coaches and players feel as if they are at an unfair disadvantage, and there is some merit to that argument.
