  1. The whole thing seems strange. You would've thought when James left, they would've called up the next in line and made the offer. Hoping this ends soon with a decent option remaining.
  2. Great points and I completely agree. I'd still like to see one of our own (that being a Highlands or Ft. Thomas guy) taking the reins and staying a while. As I've mentioned before, Coach Bathiany is the horse I'm pulling for in that respect. Home-grown Ft. Thomas/Highlands guy with family history in town and solid success coaching at the collegiate level (DII and DIII).
  3. I was good right up until the last part where you said, "Only 3 years experience as a HC and never made it to the state title game." I don't want to oversimplify what I'm trying to get across here, but I just don't see how making it to the semifinals is much different than what Highlands already had. If we're going to push a guy out, we should try to replace him with an improvement, not someone who is merely satisfactory.
  4. I don't want to discredit what Reed has accomplished at SO, but if a few semi-final appearances and never having a losing season is the Highlands coaching threshold, Weinrich would've still been the head coach.
  5. Anyone who checks all of those boxes is either happily employed or retired.
  6. Lickert is a great motivator and a great personality for the community, but based on the NCC games I watched this season, I'm not sure about his X's and O's. There were little to no adjustments being made in the games I've seen, and some very questionable play calling.
  7. Highlands mafia strikes! I'm a big fan of BB V! The Highlands job belongs to a Fort Thomas guy, and he's the best option on the list (assuming Wolfe isn't interested) IMO.
  8. I heard the same thing about Highlands today. Set for an announcement.
  9. According to Don Owen (@dontribunesport), David Fulcher applied for the position. Obviously was awesome at the pro level for the Bengals (all pro safety), but was 0-22 as the coach for Cincinnati Christian.
  10. Not that I know of, but if I put myself in their shoes, I'd be questioning the process. It seems like there's a lot of Wolfe talk for a guy who is seemingly uninterested. Doesn't seem like a good fit for the community or team, or especially the players on the committee. What kind of message is that sending to them?
  11. My concern with this coaching "hunt" is that the school is going to miss out on some good applicants because of unrealistic expectations of who wants the job.
  12. At one point a few years ago, Highlands did close external enrollment, but recently opened it back up. I don't remember the exact years, but I remember hearing about it.
  13. I disagree. I think Highlands fans understand Cov. Cath. is a solid team this year, which cannot be said for the birds. No one should be surprised if this one ends up fairly lopsided.
