I wasn't able to keep track of games and players' stats around the region this year. I was curious about J. Hicks of Hazard, J. Bowling of PCC and B. Smith of KCC. I figured they would all make the all star team. What kind of season did they each have? Anyone know?

The last two years it was decided on the day they drew for the regional tournament. I know the the 14th region all tourney team won't be decided until after the the tournament, but the jr/sr all stars were always picked before the tournament, unless they just changed the format this year, because that's when all the coach's from the region meet and submit their nominations(during the draw).

WOW that is surprising. I would have thought he could have been drafted because he was such a good hitter.

I havent visited the board much since last year and I am curious. Where did the Custard kid from Harrison Co end up going to play college ball? Saw this kid hit last season and I was extremely impressed. Had maybe the best bat speed I have ever seen for a high school kid. Anyone know?

Can somebody tell me what time these games start? and where they are at?

If you're referring to the eighth grader,I'm sure he's a good ballplayer. I'ts just that I thought this was for juniors and seniors. Actually there are quite a few good young players around the region,maybe they should do something seperate for them. And as for the rest of the choices, I believe a player's coach can nominate any player they choose and the other coaches vote on the nominations(or at least I think that's how it works). It is a matter of opinion and I'm sure some coaches' relationships with each other sometimes influence decisions, but for the most part they get it right. A couple of things I don't understand though, is not choosing another catcher or two. Only two were used this year as opposed to 4-5 last year. There may have been a couple chosen that just didn't choose to play. Several pitchers were used also,but there were some good pitchers who didn't pitch at all. Overall,I'd say the coaches did a pretty good job of choosing,everybody got some playing time(some a little more than others) and both games were won.
