  1. RB - C. Rowe - Shelby Valley QB - N. Harris - Todd Co. Cent.
  2. Prestonsburg will host East Ridge in a dist. game on thurs. night. Prestonsburg comes in at 2-3 after losing to Shelby Valley to open dist. play. East Ridge is also 2-3 but coming off a dist. win 26-24 over Allen Central. Pburg should be a prohibitive favorite in this one but with the weather(predicted) and some of the numbers put up by the Warriors, they should not look past them. East Ridge is another opp. for Pburg that will primarily run the ball (only 21 pass att. in 5 games) and feature a very back. Brody Johnson has already passed the 1000 yd mark and avg.'s 208ypg. Pburg has a great back of their own in Dalton Frasure who earlier in the season passed the 4,000 yd mark for his career and is avg. over 140ypg this year. Look for Pburg to try and fine tune their attack in this one as Leslie Co. comes to town next week.
  3. RB - Frasure - Pburg Qb - Henderson - Butler Co.
  4. Huge dist win for SV, their off. did enough to get the win and the def. stepped up late with a couple nice stops and a big int to seal game. Coach Ratliff cannot be happy as the SV off. shot themselves in the foot too many times. SV had 8-9 false start flags that kept them behind the chains most of the night. Hampton picked up a huge 4th down late in 4th that led to winning score by Rowe. As for the Blackcats give them credit for having a chance to win it late but the rain hurt their chances to balance the off. as SV keyed on Frasure all night and they completed a few passes but not enough to back the SV def. out of loading up to stop Frasure.
  5. Nice article ATLCat, just a small correction. SV now has a 2 game win streak vs. Pburg. They won last yrs playoff game and this yrs reg season match-up. It is the first win at Pburg for SV since 1999 and you're right it was a ugly game and night.
  6. The winner of this one will have a leg up on the dist but each team still has Leslie Co. to play which will not be easy for either. The good thing for both Pburg and SV is Leslie Co. has to travel for both.
  7. They still don't throw it much as the QB (Layne) only has 18 att in 4 games. They will split Hampton and Tackett out at times but they know their bread & butter is the ground game. You may see a couple of quick swing routes to Hampton or Tackett in this one but I don't expect to see many vertical routes.
  8. What a dist opener for each team. Pburg (2-2) is coming off a 34-32 loss to Hazard and SV(3-1) comes in after a 36-12 win over Hurley Va. These two teams played 2 great games last year and this one should be no different. SV will have everyone healthy for the 1st time all year and have a loaded backfield with Layne,Rowe, Tackett and Hampton. Wright and Gunter lead the "D". Frasure will lead the attack for Pburg and Slone has put decent #'s up after being inserted at QB. Little and Hager are dangerous WR's and their numbers are getting better each week. Ray will lead both the "O" And "D" lines and Stanley is the leading tackler for the season.
  9. RB - Chandler Rowe - Shelby Valley WR- Ben Hughes - Glasgow
  10. The Blackcats and Bobcats renew their rivalry on Friday night at Prestonsburg. Blackcats come in 1-1 and coming off an open week while Breathitt is 0-2 coming off a loss at home in the Honey Bowl. These two teams have played some great ballgames in the past (real good ones when Breathitt was back in 2A), it will be strange not seeing coach Holcomb on Breathitt sideline but this still should be a good ballgame.
  11. I'll take : RB - Dalton Frasure / Pburg QB - Whitaker - Leslie Co.
  12. Dalton Frasure leads the Blackcats to the win, 36 / 192 / 2 tds. SC could not overcome 5 turnovers all in Pburg territory.
  13. Blackcats travel to Inez to take on Cardinals, both teams 0-1.
  14. I agree, Pikeville dominated the game vs Pburg and could've won by more if they'd kept their starters in. I do think the playbook was condensed for the game. I think your "other weapons" would include vertical routes. McNamee was not even targeted once vs Pburg and now that Dials is more comfortable I think they'll expand the passing game more.
  15. As you can tell with the way I said in my post, "SV lost really bad, Monroe lost bad, CAL lost and NCC lost a close one" I was ranking the way they lost. I'm not lobbying for SV, I was just curious as to how some voters looked at teams performance.
