MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State baseball had the potential tying and winning runs on second and third base in the bottom of the ninth Saturday against Eastern Illinois, but the victory was not meant to be as the Eagles ultimately fell 9-8 to the Panthers at Allen Field. Morehead State dipped to 27-16 overall and 12-7 in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Eagles trailed 6-0 after five innings but scored in the final four frames to make it...

COLUMBIA, S.C. One day after allowing 19 runs and 20 hits to Kentucky, a trio of South Carolina pitchers combined to hold the Wildcats to two hits in a 5-1 Gamecock win on a warm and humid Saturday afternoon at Founders Park. Entering the weekend as the top pitching staff in the Southeastern Conference, South Carolina starter Adam Hill and reliever Josh Reagan limited No. 6 UK to one hit in the first seven innings -- a home run by third...

Of those prospects of interest for me, Boom Williams and Tion Green did not get drafted. Kofi Amichia, taken by the Packers in the 6th round (212) was a surprise. It was a surprise to the NFL guys, too, because they had no idea who he was. They also had him listed as a center. Kofi is a tackle. :D

The Colts took Marlon Mack. I liked Mayock's comparison of Mack with Le'Veon Bell. Not as big, but with the same running style.

Tarasenko with the game winner in the 17th minute of the 3rd. A shot by Josi, deflected by Advidsson, hit the post with 12 seconds left that would have tied the game. Great hockey match. The series is tied 1-1 and headed to Nashville for game 3 on Sunday afternoon.

I've never seen that before. I'm absolutely amazed that a MLB pitcher would make a dive for the second runner like that. I can't imagine he practices that kind of roll very often, if at all. That's a good way to injure a shoulder if you don't land right. Props to him!
