Since my cell is my business phone for several different businesses, I get too many phone solicitations. The specialty ringtones help filter out the clutter.

I've been at work since 6 this morning. Will work until noon. I'll go do some food shopping for Mrs. S. then take the grandkids next door to my sisters house to go swimming. My son and his wife arrive around 3. I'm grilling. My daughter and her family may come over this evening around 7 for dinner (not counting on that, though).

I would have to see the actual figures behind the phrase "unusually large sizes and great frequencies". Considering what one has to go thru to purchase a box of Sudafed, a non-prescription drug, I find all of this a little hard to believe.

I have a friend who is a die hard Tottenham fan. It is beneath him to watch any American soccer.

Ron Chernow is one my favorite biographers. "Washington a Life", "Alexander Hamiton", and "Titan: The Life of John D. Rockefeller, Sr." are all fantastic. Because of these, I plan on getting "Grant" sometime this year. I saw the movie, "The Circle", and found it intriguing. My experience tells me the book would be much better. I have to get it. FWIW, "Gone Girl" is the only movie I've ever liked better than the book from which it was...

Happy accident. The Sundome has been that color scheme since 2012. Also, it's not brick. Like everything else in Florida, it's block (actually concrete slabs) stuccoed and painted. A year ago, USF Athletics Foundation dumped IMG Sports Marketing in favor of Lightning owner Jeff Vinik's new Tampa Bay Entertainment Properties LLC to run all media and marketing for the university. Since then, USF's footprint in the local and state media has...

I'm still burning back through my Reacher books. I've gone through "The Affair" and "Running Blind" since my last post in this thread. Started "Echo Burning" yesterday.

When we went to the Knotty Pine with the RTS's, the place was not busy at all. It was the weekend after Thanksgiving, so that may have made a difference. Mrs. S and I try not to eat out on Friday or Saturday nights, if we can get around it. Especially popular places. Thursday's can be a pain, too. We try to make Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday our restaurant nights.

Every time I see where a celebrity has committed suicide, I can't help it. The first thing I think of is that money and fame can't buy you happiness, love, or health.

Mrs. S got an email the other day from Home Chef. Kroger is teaming up with them. You'll be able to get Home Chef meals packages there, soon, if not already.

My father would not watch any war movies. Dad always said, "I lived through that. Why would I want to watch it? That's not entertainment to me. It's something I want to forget." Yet, he loved M.A.S.H.

Albert Woolson, the last Civil War veteran, died in 1956, 91 years after the war ended, at the age of 106. He joined the 1st Minnesota Heavy Artillery Regiment in 1964 as a drummer boy. Of course, I don't believe we had 14 year olds serving in 1944. The last WWI vet died in 2012. The last American WWI veteran passed away in 2011. However, with advances in medicine, I would not be surprised to see a D-Day veteran or two around in 2044.

Lubbock Regional. You knew it was going to be a bad day when your starting pitcher opens by hitting the lead-off batter, then walking the second batter, throwing 3 balls and 2 wild pitches in that at bat to advance the lead-off guy to 3rd. Follow that with a single and a homer, two batters later, and Tech was off an running. Reid Detmers stuck out 3, but he gave up 2 homers and 5 runs in a little over 2 innings of work. You spot a ranked...
