I blew off the baseball thing after the basketball game went into overtime. I got the friend home in time to catch the 2nd half of the UK game.

Vegas broke a 4 game losing streak with a 50 shot on goal performance at home. Juuse Saros got pelted with 41 shots on goal the first 2 periods, many were break aways, as the Nashville defense was off playing blackjack somewhere. He only gave up 2 goals in that onslaught, but he must have been worn out as he gave up 3 goals on only 9 shots in the 3rd. Kevin Fiala scored the lone Nashville goal, cutting the Knight lead to 3-1, early in...

The Bolts broke open a raucous, scoreless affair with 3 goals in the 3rd period at Amalie Arena, last night. Andrei Vasilevski got his second shutout in a row, and Tampa Bay won its 5th game in a row. Both teams had goals pulled from the board in the game. In the 2nd, Brett Kulak appeared to have scored the first goal of the game off a pass from Brenden Gallagher, but the Lightning challenged and the Habs were ruled offsides. Montreal...

I have been doing work and chores around the house. Later this afternoon, a friend and I are attending my first USF basketball game of the season, verses Temple. The friend has never seen the campus. I love showing it off. Since I'll be on campus, after the game, I may head over to the baseball stadium to catch an inning or 2 of the home opening series of the BaseBulls.

I have fiber and cable coming into work. The cable is Spectrum, 25mb up and down. The fiber is WOW (formerly Knowlogy), 25mb up, 300mb down. I have fiber at home, 150mb/150mb. In my experience, fiber is much faster and more reliable than copper. Frontier FIOS, down here, offers 1Gb/1Gb service. The fastest I've seen Spectrum is 300mb/300mb.

Thomas Greiss saved 31 shots on goal and the team blocked 27 more as the Jackets were shutout in Columbus. Casey Cizikas had 2 break away goals for New York, who lead the Met. Artemi Panarin hit the post and went just wide right on 2 excellent scoring opportunities for the Jackets. Cam Atkinson missed a wide open net with Greiss out of position and could not captialize on another rebound when Greiss made a fantastic save when Cam could...

The Lighting have 90 points with 24 games left in the season. Toronto, who would be in the lead or tied for the lead in every other division in the NHL, trail the Bolts by 15 points.

Viktor Arvidsson and P.K. Subban scored in the 2nd period to make up a 2 goal deficit to Detroit in Nashville, last night. However, the Preds were unable to get anything by Jimmy Howard in the 3rd and drop their 3rd straight, this one without getting a point.

How good was Columbus' defense, last night in Nationwide Arena? Washington had only 7 shots on goal after 2 periods of play. Sergei Bobrovsky made 13 saves in the 3rd to complete the shutout. Anthony Duclair got the Jackets on the board in the 2nd, Nick Folingo scored with 3:47 left in the game, and the Bread Man added an empty netter with 10 seconds left. With the win, Columbus pulls within 2 points of the Capitals for second place in...

The Pacific Division leaders came to Tampa and got roasted. (Get it? Flames? Roasted?) Nikita Kucherov had a goal and 3 assists to lead the Bolts. Point scored his 33rd goal of the season and Stamkos his 30th. Gourde, Paquette, and Cirelli also scored for Tampa Bay, who have now won 3 in a row.

On the return trip of the back to back, home and home, St. Louis won its 6th straight game by downing the Preds in Nashville. Down 3-1 going into the 3rd, Juuse Saros allowed Vladimir Tarasenko's second goal of the game, but Roman Josi, Viktor Arvidsson, and Filip Forsberg all scored in the third period to force overtime. However, Tarasenko completed his hat trick 16 seconds into OT. Arvidsson's goal was his second of the game. Alex...

Nikita Kucherov had 2 goals and an assist. Steven Stamkos collected his 29th goal of the season, Braydon Point his 32nd, and Ryan Callahan scored to bury Miami in Sunrise. The win completes the Bolts sweep of the Panthers during the regular season. Roberto Luongo entered the game in the 3rd, for Miami, and passed Patrick Roy for the most games played by a goalie. Louis Domingue won his 10th game in a row, setting a franchise record and...

After Cody Eakin scored to give Vegas a 3-2 lead midway through the 3rd, Cam Atkinson scored 2 goals to get the win in the land of card games and slots. Cam scored with under 6 minutes to play and then capitalized on a penalty when Paul Stastny slashed Artemi Panarin with 2:56 to go. Panarin had tied the game 2-2 in the second with his 21st goal of the season. Josh Anderson opened the scoring for the game. Thanks to Pittsburgh's losing...

St. Louis extended their winning streak to 5 games at home, yesterday afternoon. The Blues took a 3-1 lead into the 3rd. After the Preds pulled their goalie, Ryan Johansen scored and extra man goal, but Nashville could not close the gap. Ekholm scored the other goal for the Preds. Dunn, Tarasenko, and MacEachern scored the Blues goals. With Winnipeg losing to Ottawa, Nashville could have regained the lead in the Central. As it...

The LA Kings ... er ... Tampa Bay Lightning extended Pittsburgh's losing streak to 5 games in Amalie Arena, last night. The Pens are now 0-4-1 in the streak. The Bolts stopped their 2 game slide and are now 5-3-2 in their last 10 games, avenging their last regulation loss in Pittsburgh last week. The best part of the match, was when Ondrej Palat received a penalty for tripping Sidney Crosby in the 2nd period. 20 seconds later Anthony Cirelli...

I hate everything ESPN, except for the game broadcasts. But of what I have seen, he is way to over the top for me on TV. I listen to very little sports talk radio, anymore, so I've never heard his radio show. coldweatherfan, he's not on 620/95.3 WDAE (the ESPN affiliate down here). Are you listening on line?

You could not read the numbers on the jerseys. Adidas produces this crap all of the time. I remember Louisville had basketball uniforms that you could not read the numbers of, especially on TV. The complaints on Twitter are many, of which I am included, and I've heard emails and phone calls to the Lightning are numerous and vastly negative. When did the Tampa Bay Lightning become the LA Kings?
