If UK wins tomorrow. Even though our fan base travels well. It could end up being like two road games in the final four against Oregon and then possibly Gonzaga in the Championship. If UK does end up winning it all. They definitely would have earned it, with the route they have to take to win it.

He definitely has choked many times in the tourney. I don't consider this one of them though. They lost to a very good Oregon team today, that was just flat out better than them today. Which is why this tournament is so hard to win. Your team has one off day shooting, while the other team shoots great and plays great and your season is over.

The reality is now unless Florida is the one who makes it. We will have at least one team making the championship for the first time ever in Gonzaga, Xavier, or South Carolina.

Not sure what else you need to see. The last two games they showed they can win a slow down defensive game against Wichita St. And then today in this game by playing fast but at the same time controlling the game with defense. They couldn't do these things earlier in the year. So agree to disagree still. With that said it doesnt get any easier. They will have to possibly play an even better game against North Carolina. However this was fun. ...

Great game! Another example of how much better this team has got. They have to keep it up for 3 more games. On to the elite 8! Survive and advance! Go cats!

That's exactly how I felt at first. Then I started to think about it after I heard someone else mention it, and I liked it. Doing more 2 TE sets would help the young tackles. Should help the running game, or if teams keep their base defense in against our 2 TEs then we would give the defense huge matchup problems. Plus gives them insurance in case Eifert gets hurt or leaves after this year.

I get what you are saying. However he basically built Florida. 2 titles and another finals appearance and also another final four. At the time there was no reason to leave Florida and burn ties there to go to an in conference rival, when he was already winning titles at Florida. Now say he wanted to get back to coaching college. It does make it a smoother transition without burning as many ties going from the NBA to UK than from Florida to...

What would the Sweet 16 in football have looked like, if it was set up exactly like basketball with no classes? The districts being the same as basketball, the regions, etc. Then with the same regional pairings that basketball had for its basketball bracket this year? Anyone have opinions on what teams would have made it from their regions, and then what teams would have advanced once in the state tournament?

I said after the Heisman last year that it would be reversed. With Mayfield winning and Jackson second. I am going to stick with that. Only way I don't see that happening is if Mayfield ends up having to serve some kind of suspension for the trouble he got in.

Except he would have to be a lot better than what he has ever shown to be even a backup QB.

I hope he gets drafted or makes a team as a free agent and sticks. However as a qb I just don't see it. You don't see hardly any 50% completion percentage qbs in college make the NFL as a qb. It wasn't like the problem was just playing for UK. His numbers at BC were pretty similar to his UK numbers. So if he struggled with completion percentage in college, I don't see that getting any better in the NFL with even smaller passing windows to throw...

At the time UK was coming off being the number 1 overall seed in the tournament 2 years in a row. They also had 3 top rated guards coming in with that class in Rondo, Crawford, and Bradley. So at the time yes it was easy to see why they didn't go after Lofton. With that said we all seen what Lofton ended up doing. He was a star in college, and I am sure if UK had to do it all again. That he would have been the first they offered in that...

That stat alone imo shows how far this team has come. At the beginning of the year, if Monk was having horrible shooting days this team would lose or would have lost. They have won games the last few weeks without him shooting the ball as well as we have seen he is capable of. However, they need him to get back to shooting like he can if they want to keep advancing.

Agreed his footwork was horrible on the right side. It's different steps from the left side, with a different leg doing the strong post in the pass protection and a different hand. Some really do struggle when having to do opposite technique. He was a first round pick as a LT not a RT. It doesn't mean he won't suck at the LT spot too. However I do think it's to early to say for sure he doesn't have it. With having his first full off season...

To be fair we habe no idea on either of the young tackles. Ced has never had a full off season, plus he will be on his natural side on the left. Fisher looked decent the last few games, and now will habe a full off season of only working at RT instead of Tackle, Guard, TE, and Fullback. All spots he has played his first 2 years. So definitely to early to say they can't cut it. Now Bodine, no excuse there they need someone better at Center.

Honestly I think Andre Smith is going to fill in very nicely at guard for us. IMO he is built to be a very good guard with his skill set. At the end of the day it will come down to our young tackles. Which would have been the case even if they had signed Zeitler back. So I completely agree with you.

The line was going to be a pressing need no matter what. The line no matter what was going to depend on the play of the young guys, even if they kept Zeitler. If they would have let Dre walk, then the Secondary also would have became a pressing need as well. While the Secondary still needs more depth, its not completely a pressing need. Without signing Dre, the Secondary like the line would have been a pressing need too. So yes it was a no...

Do you watch a lot of corners in the NFL? While he is not an elite corner, there are a lot of corners in the NFL he is better than because he has gotten better. Plus with the whole Adam Jones situation, the Bengals basically had no choice but to make sure they locked him up. So it was a no brainer. The three years Dre has been a starter or played a lot. The Bengals defense have been in the top 5 in the NFL in holding QB's to the lowest QB...

It's simple imo. If Pitino never left then we subtract the title Tubby and Cal won. Imo they don't win in 98 with Pitino. Tubbys inside out style was perfect for that team. So I think at best Pitino would have won 2 more titles at UK to put him at 3 total. Which would put us at the exact amount we already are at.

Yes a good Addition. Rey M. Rated 87th in the NFL last year as a LB and Minter rated 25th. That's a pretty good improvement imo.

One possibly could miss working with college athletes and teaching the game more than he gets to do in the NBA. Plus in the NBA you seem to need a few stars now to truly have a shot at a title. So unless they can eventually have a couple true stars, he may realize a championship is not happening in the NBA. When it could be more realistic at UK. I am not saying that would happen, but you asked why would he leave to come to UK lol.

Ignore him. He doesn't seem to get the Bengals and his high school football team he loves are one in the same. Most years have very good regular seasons, and beat a lot of bad to average teams. But then lose once it comes to playoff time and playing top teams. So I guess since he talks up his high school team so much, only to be disappointed. He needs to get some relief by putting down a team, that basically is similar to how the team he...

It is curious because he was rated as the 25th overall best linebacker in football last year. So production wise he did pretty good. So i was wondering why they let him walk too, unless they are tight against the cap or something.

I don't think he wins the 98 title if he stayed. I think he would have eventually won at least one more though.

To be fair the tip time does favor UCLA, since that is normally 640 for them out West. :D
