I would venture to guess he doesn't purposely try to start slow each season. You sure seem to think everything should come easy for players and they should have all the answers and never mess up.

Well considering he has been one of the best hitters in baseball for the majority of the time for the last 10 years. I think it's safe to say his approach has worked just fine. Even the best hitters go through long droughts. His usually just comes at the begging of the year, while other hitters may come in the middle or the end. At the end of the day when the season is over, he has continually been not only one of the best hitters on the reds...

Which you also added he was done, he isn't coming out of it and all that. Which a few times I has to remind you, that he has always been a slow starter. So your overreacting to his normal slow start, was for no reason. Because even with that slow start he is one of the best on the team in Avg., obp, and runs scored. With chances are he will once again lead the team in those areas once the season ends. So yeah was over the top criticism that you...

All the people obsessed with RBI totals. Seem to forget for people to get RBIs there needs to people on base usually. You need guys on a team who has a good average, obp, because that means they are not getting out. Which means they can score runs, and gives other people a chance to get the RBIs. Votto is definitely very valuable to this offense in that role. If people just learn to accept that as his value for this offense now, maybe people...

Which if by the end of the year Votto leads the team in average, obp, and runs scored that means he did a very good job for this offense. And all the constant never ending Criticism of him by you was very pointless.

Yet the scouts seemed to think he had average explosiveness, based off his pre draft anaylsis. Which btw I'm glad you were right, because I also loved Booker. Honestly even though we may not have went undefeated going into the final four. I do think UK wins it all that year and doesn't fall short, if he and Ulis were the starting back court that year. My point even reading the draft anaylsis of Booker and Herro. The analysis on both coming...

As for his shooting off the dribble. I guess perception is not always reality. You may want to look at all the draft anaylsis of him. Almost every single one talks about how he is a good shooter off the dribble. That he seems to be even better off one or two dribbles, than off a catch and release. Here are two draft analysis I found. NBA Draft 219 Picks by Round - ESPN Draftcast Strengths - Solid positional size for a combo guard...

Fair enough. Now that you say that, I do think I remember you stating that on here back then. Which you are correct the NBA scouts did get it wrong with him, because he would have been at least a top 5 pick if they knew he would be like this. I actually just went back and read a pre draft anaylsis of Booker. Which is very similar to what they have said about Herro. DraftExpress - Devin Booker NBA Draft Scouting Report and Video Breakdown...

Agreed! If he goes to Tennesee he is playing 30 plus minutes a game. If he comes to UK he is probably 20 to 25 minutes a game.

Johnson was a good spot up 3 point shooter. Hence his good 3 point percentage. However, he wasn't good when having to create his own shot. We will have to agree to disagree on Johnson scoring off the dribble. Johnson definitely tried to drive the ball a lot, and hence the Bully ball the one announcer always said when he drove. However, Johnson also got stuffed more than anyone when trying to drive. Herro honestly was at his best off the dribble....

All I stated in their freshman seasons. Herro imo did show more potential than Booker, because he got to play to show it more than Booker got to. Which is why I said he probably showed more potential in his one year. It is obviously very easy for people to now disagree with it after seeing what Booker has become. If Booker didn't show what he has become. I very much doubt people would say Booker showed more potential. Booker and Herro both were...

Tyler Herro definitely can create his own shot. He honestly was better at creating his own shot off the dribble, than he was at being a spot up shooter. So I am not exactly where where you got that assessment from. Not to mention he was really good at moving without the ball and coming off screens. As for the elite 8 lost. Yeah he had bad game that day and was off on his shot. No argument there. He was also the reason why they were playing...

As I said a month ago, it could really lead to platoon 2.0. If it wasn't for the Alex Poythress injury, they probably stay platoon in 2015. Which they were blowing people out in 2015 to start that season. I could see a platoon of: 1st team Pg Hagans Sg Maxey Sf Whitley Pf Blackshear C Montgomery

Question are we happy or mad at Votto after his double? He didn't hit one of the homeruns, and didn't have an RBI on his double. So should we be happy with his double, that ultimately allowed him to score when another player hit a home run to get him in. Or should we be unhappy with Votto because he wasn't the one who hit a homerun or got an RBI? We have heard how him not getting out, doesn't really matter. That he has to hit home runs or RBIs...

Just because a teammate may get hot in a 7 game series to end up winning the Finals MVP. Doesn't mean he wasn't the most important player on the team. Steph won the MVP for the season during their first title run with him. Steph was the first unanimous MVP in NBA history. Out of all the great NBA players of all time, none had won the MVP unanimously like Steph did. That doesn't sound just like a role player to me. Not to mention he did all this...

You probably will be right. However, the same was said with Paul George when he was still a Pacer. That he would be a Laker and if a team traded for him, that it would only be for a year before he joins the Lakers via free agency. Yet he stayed with OKC. The same was also said about Leonard when he got traded to the Raptors. That he would only be there for a year before joining the Clippers. Yet now a lot of reports say how much he likes playing...

In soccer everyone always celebrates after every goal, because well usually lucky to just score 2 or more goals in a game. So their whole life basically been trained to celebrate when you do get that goal. So if people don't have a problem with the 13 goals, then I don't know how people can be upset with the celebrations. If you are fine with playing hard and pressing to towards the goal, can't be upset for celebrating when they do score then....

So basically what I am getting is you haven't watched him in over 4 years. Considering he didn't play his last year in high school in Ky. So I think it's pretty safe for me to say you really don't know what his playing style is these days, since your opinion is based on what you saw 4 years ago when he was a 16 or 17 year old kid. Best of luck to him wherever he ends up.

I'm curious of how often you have seen Brad Calipari play ball? Have you seen him play the last 3 years? Do you even have any clue what type of game or skill set he has now? He has just spent the last 3 years practicing every single day against future NBA players. He has spent every day the last 3 years getting to workout in one of the top facilities in all of college basketball. So unless you are someone who has gotten the chance to...

That was an amazing win by the Warriors. This could be the game the Raptors look back on and cry if they end up losing this series. They were up 6 with two minutes and had the ball. This is the type of lost we have grown use to Cincinnati teams have, that eventually leads to ultimately a big downward spiral.

I have played team sports my whole life and now have coached for the last 12 years. I'm all about the concept of team, and building that team concept. However, if one day my son was a star D1 athlete say in football for example and was expected to be a 1st round pick. Unless he was playing in the playoffs for a National Title. Then there is no reason to play for example in a bowl game that literally means nothing. It's one thing if you and your...

Quite honestly college athletes are smart the ones who sit out to protect themselves from meaningless bowl games, if they are projected to be a 1st or 2nd round pick. That is not selfish, that is being smart. As for Kevin Durant, he could have torn his ACL and he was still going to get max contract offers. An injury wasnt going to prevent teams from offering him that. So I seriously doubt he is sitting out to protect himself for next year.

That is exactly my point. The Dodgers last year did have a great lineup. Yet their offense the first 2 months of last year was playing similar to the reds offense this year. The Dodgers and that great lineup you said got as far as 10 games below .500 during the first 2 months of the year and only had 3 more wins at this point than this years Reds team. Based off your history on here, I would have assumed you would have made the same declaration...

Last year on this same date the Dodgers were sitting at .500 with only 3 more wins than the Reds. The Dodgers at that point had 18 games where they scored 2 runs or less. The reds at this point also have exactly 18 games where they scored 2 runs or less. My point is while yes the offense has been bad. Baseball is a sport that with it being such a long season, it is possible to turn it around. Which the Dodgers went on to do last season after...
