Or it could not. The fact is if doctors can't diagnose it until after someone is dead. How do people really know what it causes? Zero idea if it had any effect in his actions in life. Cte has become this big thing but yet no one knows really anything about it. There may be people with CTE who never even played sports before. I think there is CTE in all sports, yet unless people study all those. No one truly knows what causes it. It may not...

He is definitely good enough to be a backup. Their are a lot of bad qbs in this league. However if teams don't view him as a starter. He is not worth the risk of having the attention he would bring even as a backup. No team wants stories about their backup qb that get national attention. Same reason why Tebow didn't get signed. He actually is better than a lot of backups. However not worth the national news that comes with it. You want stories...

Osweiller and Flynn started a couple games and that's it. Kap started a few seasons and led team to multiple playoff births, two nfc championships, and 7 yards from winning the super bowl. You can't say it was only because the defense either. In fact their defense wasn't even good in the playoffs during their super bowl year. Kap and the offense is why they made it by scoring basically over 30 a game in the playoffs. He like Dalton did well...

If I remember correctly the offense last year started slow for Seattle too and then they started to get it going. They had a bad like last year too. I see more of 10 and 6.

For 5 of Daltons 7 years he had what was considered a good line. Which brings me back to the point that he has basically been more blessed than any qb is coming out of college. This is an argument I been making the last few years. I just feel like a lot of qbs could have had similar success. Basically beating the teams he should. Just maybe someone could have done better in the big games like prime time and playoff games.

Now also consider say if Kap always had the supporting cast Dalton had. Dalton like Kap has had a top 10 defense the majority of his career. Dalton has had a top 5 running game one year. Dalton has had a top 5 wr and top 5 te. Kap when he had the defense and some talent on offense around him he won playoff games and was 7 yards away from the super bowl. Let's pretend the Bengals drafted Kap and the 49ers drafted Dalton. The Bengals probably...

The nfc west teams always give them troubles no matter how bad the teams are. Even the horrible rams usually gave Seattle all the could handle and beat them a few times the last few years.

That's the thing people act like the Bengals didn't invest in their line. They did they just used a 1st round and 2nd pick on tackles. This year was a weak draft for lineman so there was no reason to reach for a lineman just because for the sake of getting a lineman. When they didn't reach two years ago and they still don't look like they worked out. I agree line play is huge in the success. However the Bengals did invest in it, and planned...

While the line hasn't been good. There has been plays to be had and big plays at that when Dalton has had time and he flat out misses the receivers still. So while no one will argue that the line is good. A good qb could make things better by actually hitting the passes when they are their. The Bengals are at worst 1 and 1 right now if he does that.

You realize this little tongue in cheek comment doesn't do much. Considering there were links posted of quotes of teammates saying Mccarron had the "it" factor and has the winning mentality. This was before he ever took over for Dalton. So while you may like to think it's only people watching the tv saying that. There was even quotes by Bengal teammates saying that and were even posted on here. Feel free to go back 2 years ago on here and you...

Did you see him do any good playing that way? Like it not Chad being Chad was his best years. The only time his act became a problem was in his last 3 years, the ocho cinco years. He started caring about other things and lost his focus that made him great for like 6 years.

The talent level with the 49ers went way down. He had no one to throw to, no running game and 2 different head coaches in two years. His good years he had talent and a good head coach. It may have just been the good head coach for his good play or maybe it was the talent around him. In Cincy he would have the talent but not the good head coach. So it would be hard to tell how he would do.

Dalton has only had 2 "on" years then which were 2013 and 2015. I wouldn't consider his play in any other year any better than average at best. Jeff Blake also had one or two really good years. Doesn't mean he was a good qb and deserved the benefit of doubt.

If Dalton doesn't miss so many throws key throws even when he does have time, then this conversation doesn't take place either. I can't say it would be an upgrade or not. Kap has played well when he had some talent on offense around him. Plus he won playoff games and played well in big moments unlike Dalton. The popular myth is well he only made the Super Bowl because of his defense. His defense gave up over 28 points a game in those...

Well before the NFL draft. I said trade Dalton to get a first round pick this year and possible one next year. Have McCarron be the starter and sign Kap. If McCarron failed then you have Kap who has experience. So the only thing missing is the Bengals didn't trade Dalton when they could have.

It kind of sounds like they don't want either of them doesn't it. I wonder if they just think that having Kap who could move would help with the line not being good.

Bracken is a solid team. However beating Bracken and playing with Beechwood is two different things. I expected Ludlow to beat Bracken. Williamsburg imo is a better team than Bracken. So I do think this is a better indicator in that regard. It should be a fun high scoring game to see. I do like Ludlows chances.

There was also a report in the cbs sports article that talked about some players wanting Kaepernick. That there are rumors within the team thay the Bengals will switch to McCarron if Dalton doesn't show improvement under the new coordinator. So things could get interesting if the offense doesnt show any improvement at all this week.

Yep. Beechwood was the 3 seed in 2005. Ncc was the 1 seed and Bellevue the 2 seed.

Bellevue also beat Beechwood in 2005 i believe. This game will be the first true test for Ludlow. Williamsburg is a good team. Ludlow will have the best player on the field though imo. I expect to see a high scoring game here.

Here is my peoblem with this. This was a weak draft for offensive lineman anyways. So you don't draft lineman just to draft them. Shoot the guys people are unhappy with in Ced and Fisher were 1st and 2nd round picks. Ced was considered a top 10 pick if he never hurt his knee. So no one knows for sure if drafting lineman could have helped or not. With it being a weak draft for lineman. I would rather them take best players available like they...

Not really considering McCarron never played for Jay Gruden, and that Jay has a qb who does good for him. Now for Hue I would bet you he and Marvin since they are close had a conversation. However since he knows Marvin and Mike Brown so well that he knew they would have to give up a 1st round pick for him, and the Browns want to gather up picks not lose them. It's not like Hue was going to come out and say hey yeah we tried to get him....

Goes to show the difference it makes when you don't have huge holes to run through. That is why I struggle saying Elliot is the top back or even top 5 running back in the NFL after one year. I think he is a top 10 back, and playing behind the best like in football makes him look unstoppable. When in reality I think we can take at least 10 backs and they would also look great with as big of holes he usually has. As we seen in this game, he is...

While the line is a concern. Dalton has a 9.5 qbr after the first 2 games. That is 2nd worst in the last 10 years. There has been a lot of bad lines, and bad qbs during that time. Guys who also don't have people like Green or Eifert to throw to, and Dalton has been worst then them. The Bengals have multiple problems on offense. However Dalton is just adding to it with bad qb play. When he has time he is making bad decisions and bad throws. A...

The way they are playing? They struggled bad to beat two bad teams the first two weeks. Yesterday they played better but South Carolina isn't good, especially after we hurt their best player. This Florida game will tell us where the program is in the sec. I thought Johnson was good yesterday.

Imo it's quite simple. They have a very young inexperienced team who while making a lot of mistakes in games are gaining valuable experience with it. Not to mention doing this while having played the 2 top teams in Nky and top 10 in the whole state on the road in their first 5 games. It definitely looks to be a tough year for them. But in the last 7 years including this season they have only had 2 seasons where they didn't do as well. 2013...

Why would Jay go after McCarron he has a qb. Jackson wasn't going to go after McCarron because he probably knew first hand Mike Brown wasn't going to trade him, especially to a division rival. Not to mention with his bosses valuing draft picks, there was no chance of it happening. So not exactly sure how it tells you anything. The fact is with no experience. In 4 games his numbers were basically the same as Daltons for his career. Plus as...
