Covcath has made many offenses look bad the last two seasons. To where it really doesnt matter who is calling the plays, they are going to make most plays look like bad plays because it's so hard to execute against them, unless you also have the type of talent they have. Which many teams dont this year including Highlands.

Wow sounds like a great game. Any details? Did Conner miss an extra point? Or did they go for the win and didnt get it?

Now the people who were wondering why a team with only one win was still ranked above teams they liked. Well this is why. They played a schedule almost every team in the state would have had a losing record against. However they probably win a few more if they were healthy. They are now, so this is trouble for everyone else.

Sometimes just working hard doesn't matter when you are going up against legit D1 players. Highlands right now is seeing what it was like all those years. When Highlands was the team with the better talent and D1 type players who truly can make a huge difference in a game. Not just about working hard. Having the better talent and a few true top talented players is hard to beat.

The game is going about as expected. Never really in doubt for Scott County.

I'm pretty sure Conner or Madison Central will much rather play Scott County on their own home field, rather than to play at a neutral site like SK.

I don't think its a running clock. But I do think CovCath wins by a margin of 21 to 28 Points.

Got ya, and maybe I just have read some of the comments differently. Which is only reason why I have responded on this. He is a very good coach and I think he will be a huge get for UL, and will get them back to where they were. Which in turn may get him to that level those other guys I mentioned were.

I agree with most of your comments. Except I think you do over look how their higher academic standards, does hurt their recruiting in some ways. Some top kids that a lot of the SEC kids who can be big difference makers. Notre Dame cant even truly look at because of their higher academic standards. I heard they did lower them some since Kelly has been there. Because he even acknowledge that gave them a disadvantage.

For the next level down from the traditional programs like a UL. He is a cant miss have to have now guy. Where the interview is a formality, the only question is will he leave his current job. For the traditional powers I dont think he is at that level where if there is an opening and he wants it he would get it. Which is what it basically was like for the guys I mentioned. So some of the comments have seemed like people were basically...

When it comes as a hot top coach that all top programs would be wanting and look at almost as a cant miss, no. When it comes to the next level down programs that are good but maybe not traditional powers like a UL then i agree. Is he someone that will be even top programs interview list, yes. Is he someone that top programs will be fighting over because they have to have this guy and where a interview is just a formality like guys I...

Utah is who I met, but that proves the point even more. He won at BG. Went to Utah who like Purdue was nothing and won. And. went there and was winning at a high level and did have his name well known across the country because of it, and that we before social media took off. Even in the world today of social media. Brohm is not a name unless in this area that is known as this top up and coming coach who wins that all top programs would...

Understandable. However those ho hum performances came from a qb who cant pass. That qb had a completion percentage of 55. Hence why some games were close and ugly because they had zero passing game. Offense has looked ten times better since the qb change. They went from a qb who couldn't complete a pass. To a qb who leads the nation in completion percentage and has played as such both at home and the road. I even admitted after their first...

Well as a Notre Dame fan. I know for me a 500 coach at Purdue wouldn't get me excited. I would have thought a top program like USC wouldn't exactly be happy about that, unless this missed out on a few bigger targets. What exactly has Brohm done that USC fans would have heard of, that they would be excited about?

For the most part both. Those guys were heard of enough and talked about enough where if you even just watch espn, you knew about them. Those guys all had very good success that made them stand out. Those guys had their teams in positions to play for big bowls, which made them known. Which made big programs want them. Brohm so far has had one week where he really would have been heard of outside this general area. I'm not saying Brohm wont...

Scott Frost has UCF talked about and national stories on it, so yes. Urban Meyer had Bowling Green playing with the big boys and produced the number one pick of the draft. People across the nation knew him. Brian Kelly had UC a field goal away from playing in the National Championship. So yes people knew and heard of him, national news. Tom Herman from his time at OSU winning the title as OC and then having that year with Houston when they beat...

Fair enough. I wont argue that you heard it. I know your a football junkie too, so I wont disagree that you heard that. Thats why your one of my favorites on here, even though we disagree a lot. You are passionate and knowledgeable even if our opinions differ. I'm just saying I haven't, and I bet most fans across the country havent.

I think if you go to most fan bases across the country and you say the name Brohm. Most wont even know who you are talking about or would give a question like answer like the coach at Purdue? Slink may not mind it because you knows him, just like we all do on this site. However to most fan bases around the country, they would have no idea. Because he is not a house hold name and really hasn't accomplished anything that would be national news...

Much like Petrino benefitted from Lamar Jackson his second go around. I think Strong benefitted a lot from having a great qb in Bridgewater. Would have been interesting how he would have done after Bridgewater. Since he has left UL, he went to Texas and failed where he could have recruited and got the top guys. So far where he is at not he has done ok. Sometimes you just cant go back. Just like with Petrino currently.

Which we will have to agree to disagree on that. Because there is not a team behind them that has done anything to suggest that they would be better than Notre Dame.

The only time I have heard Brohm as a top coaching candidate has been when people have talked about who should get the UL job. Other than that I have not heard his named mentioned nationally at all, as this top coach that top programs will be fighting over. Brohm has potential to be that next top up and coming coach, but I haven't heard his named mentioned in those likes yet anywhere except from this area. Urban Meyer, Tom Herman, Brian...

At the end of the day. If Notre Dame is really one of the best 4 teams in the country, this is a game they should still win. They know what is at stake, they are 2 more wins away from being in the playoffs. So there focus should be at an all time high, if they can't win like that. Then probably don't deserve to make it then. Unless a lot of other teams then lose again.

There is absolutely zero reason for Highlands players, or fans to think they won't win. After playing so close last time, and honestly probably should have won but beat themselves. So Highlands no doubt should believe they will win. However, going into that last game. CovCath was in the middle of a 20 something game winning streak, with almost all running clock wins. Including beating down Highlands last year. So CovCath played hard, but I...

I love the Shamrock series. And most importantly players and recruits most likely like the Shamrock series and the uniforms they use for them.

I'm a one team guy, except for college football. Growing up my dad was a Notre Dame football fan and a UK basketball fan. So those were my two favorite teams, and so I always saw Notre Dame on tv, and never UK football. I ended up going to UK for college though, and obviously went to many games. So I do have two favorites in college football in Notre Dame and UK. With that said since I have two favorites in college football. While it sucks...
