I love both players. I would give Beetle the edge for now. He was the better high school player, and since he left college he has been going against other top level D1 guys. So he knows first hand currently what it is like at the top level. McNeil tore it up at the Juco level, but he isnt use to what it is like at the top D1 level yet. So as for this coming year I would choose Beetle as he probably would have more of an impact this year. However...

I wish he would have stayed. He honestly reminded me a lit of a Gerald Fitch type. Expect Baker had a lot more talent around him to have to compete against. I think if Baker stayed he would be one of the best players on the team like Fitch became.

With both Keldon Johnson and Herro officially gone and Baker most likely transfering. UK will need some guard depth as Maxey is the only guard they have coming in. I wonder if Cal will pursue the grad transfer route for a guard too. I would have loved to seen Beetle here.

Keldon Johnson like Herro has also decided to just go ahead and officially stay in the draft.

I just read on Twitter he has put his name in the transfer portal. Not really surprising as I mentioned a few times that I thought he might. I was hoping he would at least stick it out one more year, and then go the grad transfer route if he still wasnt happy with playing time. This would have allowed him a chance to play without having to miss a whole other year. He could still decide to stay, but it seems rare that players stay once...

They hired Buffalos coach correct? Which it seemed like he allowed his guards to really play free. Which is why i guess he liked Bama a lot. Honestly I have no idea if they even interested. But I thought Auburn would have been a great spot for him. Especially since Auburns pg declared. Pearl definitely gives his guards the green light to let it fly, which could have fit Beetles game really well.

Seems to me a matter the problem is with the players rather than coaching then. If players are good enough to be college players as you say, but wont play because they dont like the coach. That seems more like players who dont have it together than coaching. Seems like players who dont really care much about baseball to begin with, if they rather not play at all than play for a coach they dont like. It seems to me they are hurting themselves...

Which would keep him in the draft. All it will take is him knowing for sure he will be between 15 and 25 imo. Which I think the combine will prove that. That's why sadly i dont think he will be back. I hope I'm wrong.

He has been a head coach for 12 years. He has only made the NCAA tournament 5 times in those 12 years. In those 5 years he made it, three times he was out the first weekend. So while it wouldn't be a bad choice if they got him. It would be nowhere near a homerun hire.

Gut feeling? His stock keeps moving up and I have a feeling he will probably perform very well at the NBA combine. Chances are he will shoot lights out like we all heard he always did in practice.

The first news report was sort of misleading. The headline said Herro is entering the draft and signing with an agent. Which made it sound like he was definitely gone and no choice to come back. However, he is signing with a NCAA certified agent. Which technically allows him to return to school still, if he doesn't like what he hears. So chances are he is gone like we all thought, but there is still the slight chance he can come back.

If Herro is going to be a 1st rounder, which all indications show that he will be. Then no he does not NEED to return. A 1st round pick gets a guaranteed contract. All the things you said he can work on, he can work on while in the NBA. He would be getting paid millions of dollars to work on and play basketball, with no classes or anything else to worry about. So there is no needing to come back to college for Herro or Johnson. If they were to...

He wont. Hagans is going to be the starting PG next year. Maxey is going to play off the ball next season. Remember Green didn't really start his freshman season after SGA took over, and then last year Green wasn't starting either. So not even really close to the same situation.

Ha he probably didnt expect Zion to go to Duke when he originally agreed to go there. I dont think anyone expected Zion to go to Duke. Well except for maybe Nike lol.

I think the Zion effect had the same effect as Lebron has when other top players joined him. When Lebron has had two other stars join him. The third star always all of a sudden didnt look nearly as good once with Lebron. Bosh and Love were all pro top 10 players before joining Lebron. Not so much after. I think same type of thing happen with Reddish. It's hard for other top talent to truly show it, when you may also have two other stars with...

Keldon himself said he wants to be a lottery pick. All it will take is someone says he may have a chance to be in the lottery and he will go. It's not a he definitely has to be a lock for the lottery to go.

Oh I agree. I been saying all season I dont know how Keldon Johnson was projected as a lottery pick most of the year. It seems he finally fell a little lately, but Keldon I just dont see what some see. He was probably the worst defender in the starting lineup. Is a decent spot up shooter, but doesn't really move without the ball. He tries to be aggressive driving the ball, but isnt a good finisher and gets his shot blocked a lot. I agree...

Johnson is gone. I see almost no way he comes back, unless he gets injured during the pre draft stuff. As someone else said Herro is the one that there may be a small but not great chance of coming back.

Might as well make Lebron the official President of the Lakers. With Magic gone, Lebron probably will have now complete say in exactly how the roster will look. So might as well give him the President title.

Agreed! That's why I would try to do whatever they could to get Rick Pitino. Dont let the Tommy Tubberville failure in footba scare you. Pitino is on a whole different level than him in terms of coaching. Plus Pitino would want to try to add a 4th team to his resume that he took to a final four. Maybe he wouldnt be interested, but definitely would try what I could to get him. For all the things that has followed him, he is still an elite...

It's hard to turn down a guanrteed contract. There is always the risk if he comes back of getting injured and hurting his stock. It just comes down what he wants as player. He will never be the guy again in the NBA. If he returns next year he will be the guy and a chance to be an All American. Before getting paid and having a good NBA career, but always just more as a role player than a star.

I dont think Hagans returning effects Quickley much. Herro who is most likely gone, but if he were to return then that may effect Quickley. Baker with him being from the West Coast. I just have a hard time seeing him stay. The only way I can see him staying is if he is on pace to graduate in three years. If so might as well stay and play at least some this year, rather than sit out. Then he could do the grad transfer route if he is worried about...

Go big! Go after a guy who they normally wouldn't have had a shot at, but now is dying to get back to coaching college basketball. Take a chance and hope nothing follows him and try to hire Rick Pitino.

After making the finals without ever even playing their best. They were due to play their best game of the tournament. Congrats to Virginia! I can see them doing what Villanova did and winning another one very soon. Jay Wright had a history of getting knocked out early in the tournament. He finally got over the hump, and then also ended up winning another 2 years later. I can see the same thing happening for Tony Bennett.
