Why? I believe in 6 years which is 12 games against the Steelers Dalton has scored more than 20 in 3 of them. Shoot out of his only 3 wins against the Steelers. 2 of those wins came with the Bengals scoring only 16 points. So yeah not sure what scares you with Dalton. He and the Bengals are horrible against you all, no matter what Dalton has around him. At worst McCarron had looked at least equal to Dalton in one and a half games against you...

As quick of a release as Andy has. Statistically he has been one of the worst qbs in the nfl when teams bring 5 or more rushers. He is not good against the blitz. When people bring the blitz and have pressure in his face especially up the middle he struggles.

How so? I didn't realize Dalton has shown the ability to play well to help the team in prime time or playoff games. I didn't realize Dalton wasnt one of the worst qbs statistically in the nfl against a rush of 5 or more. I didn't know Daltons mental makeup has shown he can handle those big moments and help make a play for his team in those big games. 1 and 4 o'clock Andy in the regular season is a good qb. Thats not the same qb though as...

You realize Andy Dalton is a poor mans Alex Smith right? Or at beat is Alex Smith. Alex Smith does well with less offensive talent around him. His teams will do well but Alex Smith is not going to win any team a super bowl. Which is what we have in Dalton but he has better talent around him than Smith but won't ever get over the top because he can't play in big games. Smith is not ever going to win anything and after 6 years no reason to think...

I will go with more of what i seen in a pre season game against a team who has not seen the same players every day for a month. Which the Bengals first team line played the whole half and didn't look bad at all. Great no, but not bad either.

He might not get to walk. The Bengals believe they get him for one more season, because his rookie year he was on the non football injury IR all season. Which means it wouldn't count for a year of service. So instead of being an unrestricted free agent he would be a restricted free agent. Meaning they could put a 1st round tender on him. So if anytime signs him they would have to give up their 1st round pick. Obviously McCarron is going to...

Agreed. What will happen is AJ will be traded to a team with not much around him and won't look to good. Then people will say see he wasn't good. McCarron is not Brady where it doesn't matter who he has around him, he will be good. Shoot mostly every qb as you pointed out needs some talent around them. Just like if we traded Dalton somewhere else I don't think he would look good either without having people like Green or Eifert to throw to. ...

Not saying it's ok. But the fact you're arguing speaks volumes. One qb in Dalton has lots of experience lots of reps and games but yet still always struggles in all his prime time games and playoff games. He has yet to make a play in those games to help out the team out if the rest of the team is struggling early. While McCarron in just 4 games has done more to give the team at least a chance to win in those games. So considering one an has...

Chances are no matter how good he ends up being. He probably will be lucky to be drafted or maybe 7th round.

While I admit Driskell looked good. He had only two passes that were impressive. The comeback throw to Erickson, and the TD throw to Malone. Everything else was short little check down throws less than 5 yards, including a simple screen pass that went 30 yards. I sure hope he does continue to look good though because that's a great situation to be in then for the Bengals.

I'm saying while still a lost he still did better than the majority of prime time/playoff games Dalton has despite Dalton having all the experience and always having all the reps with the first team offense for years. While McCarron had only two weeks of reps with the first team offense and no Tyler Eifert on the road and went to overtime. Then 4 weeks with first team offense before first playoff game in pouring rain. And yet he still made plays...

If Minnesota gives up what they did for Sam Bradford who has done nothing and injury prone. Then Dalton would get a team to give up a lot.

I don't think Daltons stock has fell at all. Plus with this talent Dalton should have a great regular season. Especially with 14 games at 1 or 4. So they could get a lot for him if they did decide to trade Dalton after this year if they fail again.

I don't know, it would be tough to keep 3 this year. Especially if they decide to keep 7 wrs, which has been talked about. They have so much competition at wrs, rbs, DL, and in the secondary. They will have to cut a guy who could contribute more than a 3rd string qb would. With that said with McCarron possibly gone after this year. They wouldn't want to lose Driskell. It will be very interesting in who they cut. Personally four guys I...

Hmmm let's see Eifert didn't play in 2 of those games. We already know the difference he makes when he doesn't play. McCarron had zero reps with the first team all season and was running the scout offense rather than getting to run the Bengals plays. So do you truly feel the Bengals really were going to be able to just open things up. Subpar against the super bowl champs? If that was subpar with McCarron leading them on early scoring drives...

You realize those quotes of players saying that were before the 2015 season before he even played a snap and before Dalton got hurt. Players were quoted saying that before he played a single game. You dont see people talk about a backup qb having the it factor unless they truly believe it. Which you haven't heard people say that about Daltons leadership. They say the status quo of he is our qb. He knows the playbook so well, great teammate,...

Very true I may very well be wrong. The Cowboys line did lose I think one or two guys this off season. So they may not be as great up front as last year. So when he does play we can see these next few years if he still looks elite.

I'm sorry but Andy is no leader. How often do you even hear players talk about their backup qb having the It factor but yet not say that about their starting an. There were players just two years ago saying that on the Bengals about McCarron. I don't think people can argue that Dalton has played on some of the most talented teams in Bengals history. Yet still as we have seen in the big moments in prime time games or playoff games he doesn't...

It's always funny to see how peoples perception of stuff is not always reality. Kap didn't have to play just average to make it. Here are the scores from their playoff games. Beat Green Bay 45 to 31. They beat the Falcons 28 to 24. Then lost to the Ravens 34 to 31. That defense gave up an average of 27 points per game those playoffs. That's not good at all. Kap and that offense helped big time getting there with his passing and running. ...

spindoc Being great in college means nothing for NFL success. Never said he wasn't good. However I am careful to use the word elite when he is running behind the best line in football. Especially when that line produced a 2000 yard rusher just two years before he got there. Plus that same line made McFadden actually look good and kept him healthier than he ever has been. He is very good, but I think there are a lot of running backs that we...

I still would like to see how good Zeke is if he didn't have the best line in football. Kap also looked good at his job first first few seasons leading them to a nfc championship game the next year 10 yards away from winning the super bowl.

You have zero idea if it's false or not. Was OJ Simpson truly innocent just because they couldn't present enough proof to the jury to get the conviction? Probably not. Doesn't mean he didn't do it though. None of us know if Elliot did or not. However even the district attorney stated he thought something physical did take place. They just didn't have enough evidence to take it to court with the conflicting stories. Still doesn't mean it...

Even though he didn't get charged for it. The district attorney in his statement when they said they weren't going to charge him. Said while there was to many conflicting stories and not enough evidence to take it to court. He even said he believed some physical altercation took place. So just cause they didn't end up charging him doesn't mean it may not have happened. Plus based off how Elliot has acted since then. I do believe it seems more...

Does anyone know how this game is set up? Will it be a game like scrimmage for a few quarters and then JV and Freshman playing? I'm trying to decide which scrimmage to go watch tonight while I record the Bengals game.
