10 Good
  1. Rebecca Greenwell and her Owensboro Catholic teammates are playing in the Republic Bank Tournament Dec. 19-23 at Lexington Catholic.
  2. Prisha Rogers of Clark Co. was voted 2nd best player in the region by 10th region coaches, made the KY/Indiana All-Star team, was named All-State honorable mention (Lexington Herald Leader). Yet the Courier Journal does not even have her listed as an honorable mention for the 10th Region?
  3. This game was a double overtime. Great effort by both teams to open the season.
  4. Coach Murray is taking the girl's job at Bath Co. not the boys
  5. GRC at Bracken for Saturday is cancelled
  6. Teams: 1. GRC 2. Montgomery Co. 3. St. Pat 4. Paris 5. Campbell Co. 6. Bracken Co. 7. Scott 8. Mason Co. 9. Bishop Brossart 10. Harrison Co. Players: 1. Lauren Tibbs - Scott 2. Keller Menke - Mason 3. Mary Jehlik - Montgomery 4. Anne Klee - St. Pat 5. Hannah Haight - Bracken 6. Emily Sanker - Brossart 7. Preshia Rogers - GRC 8. Anne Garland - Montgomery 9. Brittany Black - GRC 10. Beth Queen - Mason
  7. On the boys side: Clark, Highlands, and Campbell are all tied with 7 points each and Montgomery is right there with 6 points. On the girls side: Highlands has 8, Clark has 7, Montgomery and Campbell each have 6. Quarter and semi-final rounds start today at 3:00. Will be some very intense matches today.
  8. The boys' region looks to be a 3 team race with Clark, Highlands, and Montgomery Co. -- will come down to who can pull off an upset or 2. On the girls side Highlands is clearly the team to beat -- they are solid top to bottom and have the #1 & #2 seed in singles.
  9. You are correct -- however, Clark played one night without 3 starters. St. Pat beat them by one that night. Good camp overall.
  10. Playing 1 game a night could be about money, but my understanding is that decision had more to do with officials. 3 top flight officials are assigned for the district games. If you have a double header then those 3 officials work the first game of the double header only. With all districts in play the officials assigned for the second game at least by ranking will not be as good. With 4 of the top 6 or 7 teams in the region being in the 40th district I am sure they want the same quality officials for both games. Only way to accomplish that is by playing 1 game a night.
  11. If Paris beats Bourbon Paris will have 3 district wins, Clark would have 2, and Bourbon would have 1 that situation makes the seeding easy. However, if Bourbon beats Paris on Feb. 9th all 3 teams would have 2 district wins and all would have spilt their games with each other. Point spread does not matter it all comes down to the coin flip. In that case my understanding is 3 coins would be flipped with the odd person going to the 4th seed.
  12. If Paris beats Bourbon Paris will be the 2 seed and Clark the 3 seed. Clark did split with Bourbon, but Clark also has a district win over Paris meaning they would have 1 more district win than Bourbon. If Bourbon beats Paris then it is a 3 way tie and it will be coin flip for 2,3, & 4.
  13. I believe it was a 1 point game at half time. LCA had a big 3rd quarter
  14. Well pressing or not LCA and Cath. are 2 of the best teams in the state. I guess everyone would do things different on the bench -- but if pressing is the way you play then you have to "stay with what got you there (11-3)"
