Every team plays these games, and have for years, including whichever team you're a fan of.

I don't necessarily disagree, but let's not act like wins over Pitt & Northwestern are something to write home about. They're two very average football teams that happen to play in the worst divisions of P5 football. Alabama's only loss would be to playoff bound Georgia, and they'd have a road win over top 10 LSU, which would be more impressive than a Michigan OSU win. No way, no how does Bama get left out unless they suffer multiple losses.

Yep. The borrowing aspect doesn't factor in for me. That is the one major benefit I've heard of for CUs.

I don't know enough about credit unions to have an opinion one way or another, I just know there's almost none in the NKY area.

More or less. We've found it's a lot easier to stay on budget if we use cash instead of our debit cards.

We use cash for almost all day to day expenditures. So we’re going in quite frequently to get cash out. Most times we need amounts that are not multiples of 20, so ATM doesn’t do it for us.

I get the ties that connect Brohm to Louisville, and I imagine he'd do well there, but I think you'd be doing a disservice to the program to not a least reach out and gauge interest from guys like Babers, Campbell, Fickell, Leach, Kiffin, etc.

Babers, Campbell, I think Fickell would be a good hire there too. I think you could also make a case for a guy like Harsin. Also, a name sort of out of left field, but how much fun would Mike Leach be at UofL?

For me, I'd go Kiffin and the field over him. Would be very intrigued by Day as well.

Doesn't all this maybe lead one to pause about Brohm's coaching chops? If he's been able to up the talent level at Purdue, which you claim is a horrible job, but the W-L record is no better than what it's been for the past 20 years, is it fair to wonder how well a job he does at coaching said talent?

I'll also say if Babers has reached out to express interest, you just end the search now and hire the man.

I look at what Brohm has done at Purdue, and think, yep, on par with every other Boilermaker coach (with the exception of Hazzell) in the last 20 years. Now has he recruited better or increased the talent level and depth? Maybe so, but the end results are the same, which seems to make it a legitimate question as to why he'd be a potential candidate at a place like USC (as was mentioned in this thread).

If ask coaches if they'd rather have a place they can win at, or a job that has great facilities, great campus life, etc., but doesn't have a winning atmosphere or environment, I'd be willing to bet all (or nearly all) would take the job that they can win at, regardless of the other factors. Just my opinion.

I don't think he would. I think he would for USC though, which was another job brought up in here.

And yet, the only thing that matters, winning, is at worst pretty much on par. Plus have to factor in the easier path to the conference title game. Lot easier to get there against the trash B1G division Purdue is in, as opposed to going through FSU & Clemson each year.

You can't blame anyone on here from viewing all your college football posts as being framed from a "what opinion is going to make Ohio State look the best" perspective.

Right. He's a better coach than Stoops, and Purdue is a better program than Kentucky. Not sure what that has to do with anything....:idunno:

I'm not ignoring what he did at Western, I just don't think that's much of an indicator....Taggart was successful at Western. He's now on the verge of being bounced after one season at his big boy job. Petrino was successful in his one season there. Brohm would be a fine hire at UofL. I just simply don't necessarily think it's a better job than Purdue, and I certainly think USC can do better than a coach who's 1 game over .500 in his P5...

Dino Babers would be a better candidate for either job (UofL or USC) than Brohm IMO. Talk about turning around a train-wreck....

If we're being honest, they only think Brohm has done a fabulous job at Purdue because they boat-raced Ohio State.

Based on? The on field results are at worst on par with the majority of P5 schools.

We have different definitions of a train-wreck. They went to 12 bowl games in 16 years until the Hazell hire. They are what they are. A solid, but not great program.
