10 Good
  1. It's pretty simple for the Tigers when you think about it; don't give up big plays and don't turn the ball over. Stick to that and life will be good for the defending state champs.
  2. This will be a good 1st round game. If Bowling Green is looking past Madisonville they could be going home early, as Madisonville has played the top teams on their schedule very tough. But I'll take the Purples in a 'too close for comfort' opening playoff win.
  3. I'm pretty sure I can read and I'm sure the name of the thread is St. X 38 Manual 7 but I could be wrong. But I'm not wrong; so if you don't have anything, you know relevant to say, then take your "intelligent" comments over to the "grass" section of the message board.
  4. Both coaches are very successful and they're doing it two totally different ways. At X, they've had the same philosophy for the about the last 30+ years when it comes to football. They are going to have a great defense, a ball control offense that will run the football whether you want them to or not, and special teams that will flip the field in their favor. That is Coach Glaser's philosophy; beat you physically and then beat you mentally. They have made some adjustments on defense and added a few wrinkles on offense over the years, so they're not satisfied with just the same schemes. I love when they line up and just run it and there is nothing that the defense can do about it...it's a great feeling; but that's coming from a former OL. Coach Glaser always talks about the "10 year plan" and he and the school take great pride in that. But don't let it fool you, Coach Glaser and X are in the business of being champions. Yes, since 2000 St. X has won 2 championships while playing in a total of 5. It's not the number that anyone would have thought but it's just the way it goes. You watch the film make adjustments and get back to work. It's life. The latest game is the first time that t has beat St. X that soundly so before t fans start to bad mouth Coach Glaser and St. X, take a step back and remember that there is a very good chance that you'll have to play them again. Final thought, as I saw on the TEAM shirt for the first time on Thursday..."Be Uncommon"!!
  5. They might be great or even the best sophomores in the world but I will never trust a sophomore. They'll get you beat when it matters. Just my personal opinion.
  6. I may be in the minority here, but I like they gold jerseys!! They have gold practice jerseys so it's not like it came out no where. But, I hope Coach Glaser decides to go Green on Gold!!!
  7. Well it's hard to say that X wasn't the better team going into that game. X had dominated T and just aboput everyone else in '05. So my point was that even though they were the better team that year, it doesn't always end that way. CentreRock, I agree, X does a great job a keeping T out of the endzone and giving them a fighting chance when X is a little down from year to year. X keeps T's "power spread" from scoring in bunches; even during the Brohm era they never scored more than 20 (if that). Shoued be a fun game this year, with great players on both teams!
  8. Perfect example of the most talented team/player not always walking out on top. Hmmm...maybe a little bit of foreshadowing.
  9. It's great for the state of KY. For being a "basketball state" it says a lot that a high school football game in this state can bring about 30-38K fans! Also, it give KY some national/regional attention as well, and there is never anything wrong with that!!! Yes, there are fans that don't like either school because of who they are, but they understand the importance of this game not just to those two schools, but to the entire state.
  10. Does anyone know the point average for each meeting over the last 10 years?
  11. You're correct about that...he'll just make excuses. With that being said, it comes down to the running game for T. If they run it effectively that will open up everything for them and keep X from bringing pressure. T's starting QB had a 70 something percent completion rate going into their game against BG. When he left that game I believe he was about 4/10 with an INT. X can not be scared to bring pressure. Make their QB feel uncomfortable and good things will happen. So the key for the game will be X's ability to stop the run and T's ability to run the ball. X in a close one....17-13
  12. Sorry got a little confused. BG's D held T offense to 3 field goals...
  13. Thoughts on the game...the refs did a good job! They were not going to call a penalty that would dictate the outcome of the game. There were some "obvious" holding calls that were missed agaisnt T but I don't thingk that wold have changed anything. T has a very underrated running game, which won the game for them. Bowling Green's RT took T "super sopomore" DL out of the game. When he made plays it was either against a TE or chased it down from the back side. it was a good game and it could have gone either way...I wonder what will be Coach Betty's "reason" for not scoring more points...because like in '09 when T was SHUTOUT it was because of injuries not becasue BG has one heck of a defense.
