    "Save the Cheeerleader....Save the World!"
  1. I'm already over it and have been for weeks now. I haven't even been reading any threads with these kids. But of course, if they come i'll be cheering for them, I suppose.
  2. My sentiments exactly. :thumb: GOOD players, too!!!!!
  3. I don't mind a waiting period or background checks with multiple forms of IDs. Everyone can get a fake ID's. The background check should probably look for more then just a criminal record. Putting yourself in one of those students position and most of us would wish we had a gun instead of being unarmed and helpless. Guns on campus is a tough one, though. Easy to say more accidents could happen if they were more prevalent.
  4. A blanket statement. It depends on who you are!! Some people can get plenty drunk with 3 or 4 shots of whiskey in 10 minutes pretty quick. Personally, I could do most things high that I could NOT do drunk. I can paint, play music, go hiking, enjoy Kings Island, go swimming, go shopping, hit the mall and not stumble, fumble around, slurring my speech and being sick. I wish Dateline would do a driving test on being high like they do being drunk! It is LEGAL to drink and drive...just don't be over the limit!!! Legalizing it means anything is okay to do...under the restrictions of the law. Like shooting guns, starting fires, driving fast, drinking beer, taking prescription medication. You can do all these things, under the restrictions of the law. Thus the purpose of the law. To curtail the actions of the people.
  5. Thats the first thing that went through my mind. He will be long gone when that pick rolls around.
  6. Snoops speaks out on whites or blacks using those words. http://www.news4jax.com/entertainment/11814452/detail.html
  7. The last two posts are as true as anything written on here!! :thumb: Chris Rock HAS said things like this and made $$ doing it while being applauded. I happen to be in a position of employment that lets me hear/see what hundreds of young black children are reading, watching, hearing on a daily basis. They wouldn't have flinched at hearing this....unless a white person said it. It was rude and stupid to say. I would not say it. But there is a double standard for what a white and black person can say in the public eye. Go ahead.....ANYONE try to deny that and show us that there isn't.
  8. IMO, it is ridiculous to demand someone is fired for WORDS! It was a rude, dumb thing to say..but it wasn't vicious, malicious, emotionally damaging. Just stupid. Now, if the employer decides it is the right thing to do..that is for the employer to decide. But not for the sleezy opportunistic Sharpton to dictate or determine. With freedom of speech comes responsibility for consequences. You can say anything you want about my momma. It is a free country...but you'll probably be doing it with a bleeding lip! :fight: :thumb: Then, my actions will require me to pay the consequences. There are a couple news packages on cnn about the use of those 2 words that are worth watching. Plus......I personally believe that if it was a black radio host....there would be no controversy. Doesn't make it right or wrong....just no national media and no Sharpton.
  9. I don't agree with this at all. They absolutely do not sit around and dream of all the minds they can mold with positive behavior. They grow up being able to run fast, jump high and catch knowing that this will make them rich and famous, able to have shoe contracts, parties and starlets. Heck, several were getting in trouble through high school and college. It didn't just START happening!!!
  10. :thumb: A stupid thing to say! I think he was trying to be funny...though he's the wrong color to get away with that. I don't think he was trying to be racist and offensive. I agree these girls should be upset... But I don't think they are morally depleted and have experienced traumatic emotional damage like they are sounding off on. I am willing to bet $$ they have heard/seen plenty of rap songs, movies, comedians that use much, much worse language and insults. If you are going to listen, support, purchase, dance to lyrics that demean women, you can't trun around and pin the ills of social dysfunction on a white radio host.
  11. Marquis Estill and Atwoun Barbour go on that list for Tubby recruits, right?
  12. Neltner was/is a better player then Orbzut and Thomas without a doubt. We are often soft inside and Neltner's presence would have been helpful. He's got strength with his height. Tubby recruits height with no strength. Orbzut had no command. Alleyne was ridiculous. I like Jared Carter.....maybe he can recoup and add MUSCLE to our team.
