  1. This analysis is laughable and a shot at Coach Perry who YOU, of all people, know how hard he works. You continually begrudge Coach Perry because the 03 team couldn't get to the state tournament. It is time to let go of that and be a man and take responsibility and come to terms that you and your team were selfish which lead to you not accomplishing your goal. Now, 13 years later, you find yourself continuing to place blame on someone who supported you to the highest regard. Helped you become a college basketball player or do you still believe he had nothing to with that? Very sad. I hope one day you wake up and realize that Coach Perry would have did anything for YOU to reach any goal and to be successful! Here's to you Coach Perry! A great teacher, administrator, coach and, most importantly, a wonderful person who dedicates countless hours to Morgan Co. youth! You truly are a class act and EVERYONE in that community is lucky to have you! PS: Dropouts hurt the accountability of high schools per KY Statue therefore your comment about the high schools achievement far fetched.
  2. Caldwell, Walker and Adkins for Russelll all went on to pitch in college. Adkins is still pitching. Pretty good staff. It is too early to tell if Ashland will be that good.
  3. Just an observation from someone not involved in the tournament or any of the schools mentioned. It is my understanding they did not count Russell's scores in 5 of the 8 events and they still had enough points to win region. If this is true Russell is the best cheaters I have ever heard of or they really did not need the one student to win. I can also understand why the other teams would feel as helpless as they do. If I got beat playing 8 on 3, I would be frustrated.
  4. If Bath and Elliott make it to the region the Wildcats better hope they don't meet the Lions. Talk about a whipping.
  5. It matters to the teams, players, and coaches in the EKC. Obviously it mattered to Bath County who tried to get the title any way they could but refused to play the top teams in the conference. Funny how they could play Berea, Model, and teamsd like that but managed to dodge Elliott County and West Carter. BTW what other teams are unhappy other than Bath?
  6. I agree that Elliott County can be beat, whether or not it will be a 16th region opponent is yet to be determined. The by-laws were in place and understandable to all school voting delegates. I know this for certainty because they signed the document when it was adopted. With that being said, nothing should be interpreted or as it was qouted "in the spirit of the rule". Its the responsiblity of the KHSAA to settle it, they are the governing body. In their by-laws it states to move to a coin-toss or blind draw, which was adopted yesterday by the voting delegates. Playing each other again is not possible by the by-laws written in the KHSAA handbook. Whoever Morgan County gets in the district, whether it be West Carter or Elliott County, they will give their all and represent their school to the best of the their abilities. Right is right and all the documents on file point to that. Good luck to all teams in the district.
  7. So you have no stake in the tournament? And yet you asked a private question to NETS, but then posted it for all to see? I'm having difficulty understanding then, but that's what makes this a great place for discussion. If in fact you do have a reply from NETS despite your attempt at public ridicule, I think that only reinforces what I posted about his character. If there were, in fact, a league of extraordinary gentlemen, he would be a charter member. I'm hoping that after your interactions, you would concur. Have a good day. With no team left, you have my best wishes for at least some good basketball and not-so-healthy-but-oh-so-good concessions. Me, I'll be traveling EAST for my hoops watching!
  8. Spin it how you want, but by asking that question sir, you are implying that NETS has a narrow agenda and only cares about self. I've known him for a long time, and I can assure you that if/when he has a dog in any fight, his battle will be waged on the foundations of fairness, integrity, and for the greater good of ALL involved. He frames his opinions on what is right, not bowing to established networks of archaic thinking. To insinuate otherwise is petty and irresponsible, not to mention a potential violation of this great site. Good luck to your team in the post-season.
  9. It amazes me that everytime a job comes open Jim Bob Hicks name is associated with it. The guy has more controversy surrounding him than Brittany Spears. Just maybe, the Somerset administration needs to call Owlsey County and Greenup County school officials to find out. Jim Hicks is a good person but an average coach at best.
  10. I guess Coach Bill M. Runyon isn't a good coach using your logic since he went 6-16 in 03/04 and then 14-15 in 04/05. That statement is borderline obsured. Perry is a top of the line head coach and would be a great hire for any school with a passionate basketball program.
  11. PG - D. Rose SG - C. Lofton SF - J. Nelson PF - M. Beasley C - T. Hansbourgh 6th - C. Douglas-Roberts
  12. Elliott County has been impressive all year despite tension in their camp at times, remember the District tournament finals. I for one am looking forward to the re-match with Rose Hill. Who do you think has the advantages with perimeter and post play. Can't wait to here the responses.
