Him getting called up would most definitely be a publicity stunt. He’s lucky he has a name. Otherwise he’d never make it out of the minors.

That being said it is good to see him have a good month. I’ll be more impressed if he can keep it up and actually become a a serviceable player in the majors. I don’t see that happening though.

Would be fun to see how a 36% K rate translates to The Show.

Probably doubles to a 76% K rate but if the Mets can make money off of him then I ain’t mad at them.

Yep....and this why he may be called up. Ticket prices and demand spike after Tebow announced to all star game.

Tim Tebow Drives Huge Spike in Class AA All-Star Game Ticket Prices

With news of Tebow's selection, the cost to attend the Eastern League All-Star Game, slated for July 11 at Arm & Hammer Park, in Trenton, N.J. skyrocketed.

On Vivid Seats, the cheapest ticket rose to $115, nearly six times the $20 tickets available prior to the announcement that Tebow was an all-star.

He could be called up simply because he's getting better and can hit. There's always room for a good leader who can hit.

Yeah, I remember when Michael Jordan got the same treatment. He almost got called up too after starting in the minors at the Double A level.

Tebow is 10 times better on the baseball field than Jordan.

Not the point. The point is that they were both used for their names and not their actual skill. MJ bypassed Rookie League and A ball and went straight to AA ball off the strength of his name.

Tebow worked his way up but until this month of June had never really shown any promise for a cup of coffee in the MLB. If one month of good hitting is good enough for Tebow to make the roster of an MLB team going nowhere then congrats to him. Don’t insult my intelligence trying to convince me that he is a capable and serviceable MLB player at 30 years of age. When he makes it to the MLB it will be for one reason and one reason only. To put butts in the seats. And if he makes it to the MLB and can have a batting average over .290 for a whole season I’ll happily admit I was wrong about Tebow on BGP, Facebook, Snapchat and I’ll chug however many beers you want me to chug at the Beer Engine on my tab whenever you tell me it has to happen.

2-for-5 tonight. He's now batting .269 and .321 in the last 30 days.

He still hasn't proved he can hit. He's had one good month in two years, and even then has still struck out a ton, and hasn't shown much power. He's on a run where what contact he has made has gotten through for a hit. Based on those numbers, he's on a run that will be very, very tough to sustain. Throw in the fact that he is still not very good defensively, and he's 30, and the probability of him becoming a productive major leaguer is just not very good. He's not even ranked in the top 30 of current Met's prospects.

He has done better than Jordan. But that really isn't saying much. Still a good story. I'd love to see him make it. But he's still a long shot, at best.

Considering just batting average alone, and not getting into everything else, there are 5 regular players at AA that have a higher average and 10 at AAA that have a higher average. So, even with a good month, the only way he gets called up is for a novelty.

But, for a guy who never played above high school, he has improved a ton. If he didn’t wait so long to try baseball, he may have had a chance.

Honest question as I have no idea... How do the pitchers in the league Tebow is in measure up to big league pitchers? How big is the gap in talent?
