    RIP Doc Rodgers

Darrell "Doc" Rodgers, who hosted WLW-AM's "Extra Innings" show and previously worked as an assistant general manager for the Cincinnati Reds, passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 52.

Rodgers announced in 2010 that he had stage 4 lung cancer. Radio station officials confirmed that Rodgers lost his battle with cancer.

He was also a high school basketball official as well as a real estate agent for Wyoming's Coldwell Banker West Shell office.

Rodgers pitched six minor-league seasons for the San Francisco Giants and the Reds before accepting a position as a Reds' minor-league pitching coach.

Always enjoyed Doc's insight after games. This guy battled up to the end. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. Doc's probably already trading stories with Joe.
