Reds @ Braves series (4/30 - 5/3/15)

Page 4 of The Braves have been hitting ok, but their pitching has been terrible. Their pitching was supposed to be what kept them in games. Advertisement Apr 30,... 107 comments | 2455 Views | Go to page 1 →

I was just casually watching and maybe it was just me but it looks like he had a little more bite and movement on his pitches last night. You could tell early he was feeling it.

What Walt is doing to the other 24 guys on this roster with the whole Mesoraco fiasco is criminal.

Reds score 2 in the 1st on a 2 out bases loaded single by Phillips. Byrd just missed a 3 run homer following BP's single. It was caught just short of the 380 ft mark.

Walks will haunt! Cheesy graphic at GABP, but definitely true. DeSclafani allows 2 walks (including 1 to the #8 hitter before the P doubled 2 runs in) to come home to roost and a total of 5 in the game to jack up his pitch count.

Doesn't look like control has been a problem for him in the past. ~2+ BB/9 inn. historically. Hope this was just a blip.

Reds were running wild on Braves P with a brutal time to the plate and ancient Pierzynski behind the plate. Few of the plays were even close. They should have scored more early when they had the starting P on the ropes. Hit the ball hard on numerous occasions.

Frazier is STRUGGLING. In addition to his BRUTAL performance THU night striking out 2x with runners on 2nd & 3rd & less than 2 out, he was 0-4 last night with 2 Ks, including several RISP (from memory, not stats). I am OK keeping him in the lineup to play his way through this slump, but you have to move him down in the order. With Votto raking, he's going to continue to press because there are often going to be RISP.

If anyone throws something soft and outside, Frazier can't touch it. His plate coverage is totally middle to in. Huge hole for pitcher to exploit. Now he hammers pitchers if they misthrow it inside, but outside its a different story.

Frazier and Bruce both seem to excel when pressure is at its least. It seems that all of their home runs are solo shots when they are behind by 6 runs or more or they homer with runners on early in games. Would love to know how many home runs these two have hit past the 7th inning with or without runners on base?

Everybody partying this weekend? Thread is dead.

Marquis was impressive. Byrd w/ offense & defense.

Frazier is the new Adam Dunn -- HR or K! He will work it out.

Not sure why you don't go ahead and use Chapman since he was already warmed up and hasn't pitched in awhile.

3/4 would be very good. Cueto on the bump gives a great opportunity, but Teheran is tough.
Split would be disappointing, particularly given the way they lost Game 2.
