Saturday before the game, I was about 20 feet away from Votto when he was taking groundballs and he appeared to be in some pain while doing various things. It didn't appear like he was near 100% yet, so it makes sense that they'd hold him off another week or so.

If they're winning at the rate they are now, there's absolutely no reason to rush him. Now, if they go 0-7 against the Brewers and Cubs, then I'd expect there will be more of a concern about getting him back quickly.
