You mean the annoying kids and sometimes adults that are constantly in the way? Oh darn lol. I'm sure Security, Ushers, Vendors other fans that are sitting there and other fans will have no problem with that.

We can find new ways of players interacting with fans, like by just tossing a ball to fans on the other side of where the netting ends.

It never was about safety to start with, the back of the ticket details that.

If putting up nets isn’t about safety, what’s it about? Regardless of what any ticket says, it shows organizations actually care about their fans...

They had that when I was there last month. That thing will shoot over whatever net they put up.

I'll be sadly disappointed if that's all they do.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure that it would.

Currently they don't shoot them as they go around home plate because of the netting. They did the very first game and all the balls hit the net and didn't make it to stands. So they stopped shooting it until they got past the net.

To put up a new net that goes an extra 10 feet!

MLB doesn't own the stadiums so I am not sure they have anything to say whether or not a net goes up or not. I am not sure this could happen but I would be nice if there was a net of some kind that can retract up and down. So in between innings they can still throws baseballs to fans and interact before and after games.

And how would that benefit the organization?

What I think he's saying is, if they only extend the net down an extra 10 feet (to the home plate side of the dugout) it's NOT reall showing that the organization is caring about the safety of their fans. To which I would agree. Needs to go down to the other end of the dugout.

Guy got hit in the face on Saturday at GABP. Another vendor told me that the guy lost some teeth from it.

Don't think netting would have stopped it unless it went well past the dugout.
