At this point, I wonder if there wouldn't be more interest in Dietrich.

I'm all for the Reds being a seller if they feel that they are truly out of the race. However, I would hope that they negotiate to become better as a team instead of engage in a "fire sale" as they have done in previous years.

I would say with the new trade deadline, there's less chance of a fire sale...simply because you're going to have to make that call earlier now. You could have teams change 2 or 3 positions over August and September...so being "out of the race" would mean you've already been separated by a wide margin well before July 31. Yes, the Reds are in last place in the NL Central, but I think they're in an entirely different boat than the last place Giants, when you consider one is 6.5 games back, and the other is 16.

Who is on the last year of their deal?

I think Puig, Scooter and Dietrich all are, aren't they? Anyone else?

Puig, Scooter, Roark, Alex Wood, Jose Iglesias, Hernandez and Duke are all free agents next year.

Dietrich will be eligible for arbitration next year, and a free agent in 2021.

Is he going to hit his weight this year? What do you think we can get for him a double A kid?
