So you really believe Walt called down to the dugout in the middle of the game Wednesday and told Price to get Meso an AB? Walt had nothing to do with that decision. Now, if you want to say him being on the roster is not on Price, fair enough, although if I'm manager of a team, I make sure I have a full compliment of players as often as I can. I sure as hell won't settle for playing a man down for two straight weeks. That's asinine.

If, come Monday, Meso still hasn't caught a game will you admit that there handling of him has been a joke?

Just no reason that those triple A pithcers are not here, Gregg for sure has to go. We realistically could be 10-6 or 11-5 with them here. I like the line up tonight, hope Leake is hitting his spots

"Their" handling of him as in who? I really believe that Price is not responsible for how this is being handled. Kremchek is saying "rest", Walt says "no move needed" and Price says "yes sir" Walt did not tell Price exactly when to get Mesoraco an AB, but I believe he was told to get him in a game and see how it goes. Price chose a non-pressure situation so that all involved could evaluate him in game action. It would certainly appear that he can swing the bat and run the bases, but if he cannot "squat" then what are they supposed to do with him? There is no other option on the diamond for him to play.

I truly believe that he is going on the 60 day DL in the next week to 10 days and will be done for the year.

If your first paragraph is true, the Reds have the dumbest management in baseball. Also, make no mistake about it, I've been saying for 2 years that Walt is terrible and needs to go.

So you think they're going to play 25-30 straight days a man down, and then DL him for the year, and you're okay with that?

Didn't say I was okay with anything. Really think surgery is needed to correct this problem and they are trying to see if they can somehow manage it so that he does not have to be placed on the DL and thus they might have a respectable season. If Pena has to play everyday and Barnhart be the backup they are in trouble over the long haul. Walt is probably looking for an old Cardinal farm hand to come in and save the day.

I highly doubt Mesoraco goes straight to the 60 day DL. If he goes straight to the 60 day DL after being on the active roster (and not on the DL at all) for as long as he has, isn't that even WORSE?

Not disagreeing with anything you guys are saying other than Brian Price is not the issue here IMO. Some in-game moves yes, but not this situation.

Look for Chris Heisey to be picked up if he clears waivers. There will be player number 25.

Are you all watching this game in HD?

I don't have an HD option.

The Cubs are really going to regret this Lester signing. How do you give a guy that much money, that can't throw the ball to 1st base on a pickoff move?
