Supposedly it's one of the best in recent years.

I'd like a million dollars. No one giving it to me. He hasn't earned any right to be thought of as starter. In fact, he wants to start in right field as well. If you read a quote or two from Price, I think he's had his fill of this guy.

Are we really still using batting average as a barometer?

Hamilton had a better being average than Duvall? Who gives a turkey?

Butt when you struggle to locate like he did, throw 91-92 mph and pitch in Great American Band Box Major League hitters are going to tee off. Especially given the launch angle happy climate in MLB right now.

    Lets Review .....

3rd consecutive LAST Place finish ....
3rd consecutive season of retaining manager D. Price (plus renewing for 2018)
Consecutive seasons of dumping / trading solid players such as J. Bruce. T. Frazier, A. Chapman (who all btw ..are playing in post season while Reds watching from the toilet ) for basically nothing and / or already damaged pitchers .....
Which players are next to go - Cozart, Hamilton ??? and no doubt for nothing / out of shape, damaged goods.

Definition of Insanity : Doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results ....sound like anyone we know ??

Manager and All front office need to Go, immediately if not sooner !

I forgot how many playoffs/winning seasons the Reds had when they had Frazier, Bruce, and Chapman.

The Reds have made some excellent trades/pickups to bring in players like Suarez, Castillo, Duvall, Gennett, Schebler, Peraza, while getting rid of players they were no longer going to be able to afford. The Reds offense is a playoff a caliber offense. The Reds are still trying to develop some young pitchers. Castillo showed great promise, and Mahle, Stephenson, Romano showed flashes of their potential the last part of the season. I remain positive about the direction of the franchise.

I agree with everything except the offense. Terry have built an average offense. As a matter of fact they scored exactly the league average in runs at 753. All 10 teams that reached the postseason outscored them. I think adding Winker and Senzel to the mix will help them not be so homerun dependent and improve the overall offense. The pitching will have to take a huge step forward to give trek a chance to compete in 2018 but it is at least young and they have a lot of candidates yup make that step forward.

It starts with the ownership, until that changes, nothing will change.

Should I remember correctly, they did win a division and lost in a WC, Playoff w/ Bruce and Frazier. Even if not, its the same amount as now.

They have made some good p/u's, I'll give you that and agree. I was mainly speaking of pitching or what they call pitching. Even when healthy, which they never are ..management has p/u 2nd and 3rd rate pitching and expected filet mignon results for used canned spam. ....incompetence at front office.

The thing I worry about is the Reds always seem to develop a hole that sinks them.

Could not hit when they had decent pitching. Then bullpen went into the dumpster and the starting pitching and offense could not help them. Then starting pitching went into the dumpster and the good bullpen and a good offense could not help them.

Maybe it all comes together soon but I got a feeling by the time the starting pitching starts to blossom .....the offense will go into the dumpster.

Feels like a product of being a small market team but others have overcome that.
