    Baltimore Orioles Mathematically Eliminated

On August 10th. The Red Sox 19-12 win over the Birds tonight improved their record to 82-35, while Baltimore dropped to 35-81. I guess there's always the wildcard but the AL East is out.

I don't know but this has to be up there. I mean, they could go on a 46 game winning streak and they'd still not be able to win the division.

The 1909 Boston Doves (who eventually became the Boston Braves, and are now the Atlanta Braves) finished 65.5 games out of first, and were eliminated on August 19th, in the 107th game of a 155 game season.

Tough combination of some mismanagement by the Orioles organization and the insane things the Yankees and Red Sox are doing this season. Two teams in one division currently on pace to win 100+ games.
