State Wrestling Tourney 2/17-2/18 at Alltech Arena

The conclusion of the 2016/2017 wrestling season starts on Friday 2/17 at Alltech Arena. Should be a great tourney, and it's where you will find me for the next 2 days.

It's not always the number of kids you have going down although it really helps. SK will have to have a great tourney and have several guys pull multiple upsets just to get to the top 5. Casey Cornett should get his second title.

Union County is the favorite, with Bryce Schaffer looking for his 4th state title. St X and Walton will be in the mix as they both should have multiple champs. Woodford and Johnson Central should round out the top 5.

I just checked the brackets and noticed Union County's Zeke Escalera, is 47-0 as and 8th grader!

It appears to be a three team race. Union County, St. X and Johson Central separated by 14.5 total points.

Could have been a spot higher, but they had a wrestler miss weight. I think Cornett and Jackson make the finals. Castellano has a real tough one against Saul Ervin.
