    Default State Record Broken Unofficially

Today at the Heart Of The Bluegrass track meet, Chrys Jones(class of 07) from Harrodsburg jumped a 48'8.5" beating the class A state record unofficially. The record was held by Marc Mumphrey of Carroll Co.(1987) jumping 48'2". As of today, he is now ranked top 10 in the Nation and was ranked 15th in the Nation in indoor triple jump.

    Way to go Chrys....

That is a very impressive jump! However, the only way to officially set a state record in Kentucky track and field is at the state meet. But anyone who can triple jump over 48' in high school sure has my attention!

That guy who jumped 147 feet even seems to be slightly ahead of the rest of the field!

I had to look that one up. 147 feet is his record discus throw. I don't think they let you use a discus in the Triple Jump.

Possibly; chances are just about as good that the kid tripled at 47 feet even, and the "1" was entered by mistake. 147 feet isn't bad in the discus, but it's not spectacular, not on the national scene, anyway. We had a guy at Mason County in the 190's in the discus in high school three years ago.

It wasn't a discus record. Just his discus throw that got recorded as a triple jump. Makes you wonder if they check these stats.

They check them, a couple days ago Chrys was a lower rank. They just updated it sunday, it must have just been over looked.

You can usually find a national ranking list on http://www.dyestat.com. They have yet to put out their first list. This is also a place to find much of the national high school action. You will find some spectacular performances on there.

Dyestat is probably the best of the high school track/field sites out there.
