    Kenton County HS Championship

Folks enjoyed much warmer spring conditions this evening at the Kenton County HS Championship Track Meet hosted by Dixie Heights at Rice Mountjoy Stadium. A 30 min. lightning delay halted momentum before we all got to enjoy a great sunset!

Congratulations to the host school who won both the boys and girls team standings.

    Girls Team Rankings:

    1) Dixie Heights 221
    2) Simon Kenton 153
    3) Ludlow 87
    4) Scott 78
    5) Villa Madonna 31
    6) Holmes 29
    7) Lloyd Memorial 18

    Boys Team Rankings:

    1) Dixie Heights 148
    2) Simon Kenton 142
    3) Holmes 104
    4) Covington Catholic 83
    5) Villa Madonna 64
    6) Lloyd Memorial 55
    7) Ludlow & Scott 43

    Girls top performers were:

    * Dixie Heights Senior Mary Conti who won the 100M, 200M, 400M dashes and ran a leg of the winning 4X400 relay.

    * Simon Kenton Senior Karley Abel who won the Long Jump, High Jump, and Triple Jump.

Congratulations to Mary and Karley on a great meet.

    Boys top performers were:

    * Holmes Junior Freddie Vickers who won the High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, and ran a leg of the winning 4X200M relay.

    * Holmes Senior Devin Bradford who won the 100M, 200M dashes and ran a leg of the winning 4X200M relay.

Congratulations to Holmes teammates Freddie and Devin on a great meet.

I believe all escaped injury free and I only saw one lunch re-introduced to the infield after a hurdle race.

    Have a great week!

Great pics and thank you for your time and effort paNDA. Tried tracking you down at the lightning delay and was steered in another direction. Hope to meet you sometime soon. Thanks again!

Was told Cov Cath sent mainly JV guys. Was this a JV only meet or did other teams send their varsity?

Congrats to Jake...that could very well be the fastest time in NKY. Safe to draw the conclusion his 2014 state winning time of 10.93 was his prior best.

Cheers to him reaching 10.8 range and motivating other dash participants to improve on their personal bests!

Accoring to KY Milesplit, Jake is currently 3rd. Jeff Teeteh of Boone County (who I don't recall) is first with a 10.84. Jordan Bridgett of Highlands is 2nd with a 10.90. Then Jake.

Alex Venneman is currently just outside the top 10 at 11th with an 11.07.

In the 200 in NKY historically:

Venneman is 1st with the 21.99 he ran at state and Erpenbeck is 2nd with the 22.00 he ran at state.
