    Quite a week for Villa Madonna Softball

    While the campus of Villa Madonna Academy is buzzing with graduation activities, award ceremonies, AP Exams, and the last days of school for underclassmen, the softball team has been on the field setting records.

    After a tough loss to Ludlow but substantial victories over Bellevue, Heritage, and Holy Cross, the Blue Lightning end their regular season 16-6, setting the school record for most wins!

    Game highlights...

    Versus Ludlow:
    Lost 12-10
    Anna Wagner 2-4, HR and 4 RBI
    Charissa Junker 3-4
    Paulette Moser 3-4
    Alexa Meier 2-3 w/2B
    Carol Dosker 2B

    Versus Bellevue:
    Won 19-2
    Anna Wagner 2-3 w/3B
    Abby Bittlinger 2-4, 3RBI
    Brooke Meier pitched a 1-hitter with 8Ks

    Versus Heritage:
    Won 16-0
    Brooke Meier w/4Ks & Chariss Junker w/2Ks combined No-Hitter
    Brooke Meier 3-3 w/HR

    Versus Holy Cross:
    Won 9-6
    Anna Wagner 1-4 w/3B
    Barbs Newman 2-3 w/2B

    Congratulations to the Villa players who were named to the NKSCA All -Conference Teams:

    Second Team:
    Charissa Junker, Senior, 2B
    Charissa was also 1 of 3 Scholarship Recipients

    First Team:
    Alexa Meier, Junior, 1B
    Anna Wagner, 8th grade, C

    Division III Player of the Year:
    Brooke Meier, 8th grader, P

    Coach Meier must be extremely proud of the superb season put forth by these young ladies, and the rest of his squad!!!
    Villa Madonna celebrates all their athletes tonight at the Annual High School Sports Banquet.

    Best of luck to the Blue Lightning who take on Dixie in the first round of Districts, 7:30pm Tuesday (5/19) at Dixie.
