The Birds stretch their current win streak to 9 as they down the Lady 'Stangs 9-0 tonight on a tale of two games...

The first half of the game was a pitcher's duel with neither team making much contact for the first three innings with only one hit between the teams. The pitchers for both teams, Megan Seiter for Brossart and Bailey Spencer for HHS, were dealing strikes and helped by some stellar play in the infield. The Birds finally break the knot in the 4th on singles by Graybill and Spencer and then a single to center scoring Jansen (Courtesy runner) to make the score 1-0.

HHS hitters came out of their coma in the 5th plating 4 runs on five hits with Coffey picking up a double. Brossart went in order in the sixth for 18 in a row for Spencer working on a "Perfect".

Brossart made a pitching change in the 5th to Karlie Shackleford. A walk to Daley, single by Fornash and a walk to Coffey loaded the bases for Graybill who made quick work cleaning them off by planting the first pitch in the trees beyond the left center fence for a Grand Slam. Her 11th (Coach Kent Murphy "Dinger") of the year.

Brossart ended Spencer's Perfect with a solid line drive to center by Childress, Orth reached on an error, Lloyd also reached on an error to load the bases for Boesch who grounded into a 1-2-3 double play. Spencer finished the game with her 7th K of the night.

With a little practice, Graybill is going to be a nice hitter!

Lots of wind-aided HRs in the Birdcage...I'm totally kidding here....that was a no-doubter by Graybill...there's not another hitter in NKY like her or even close to her. What a joy to watch play.

Glad we don't have to face her in the region...I don't know how she gets any pitches to hit with an open base. Got to make someone else beat you.

She needs to have a little practice at being nice to those poor little softballs. Softballs have feelings too Nah, I'm just kidding, keep on smacking em, but please do it behind closed doors not on the field for everyone to witness....this is where I need to figure out how to put the emoji rolling around laughing..but not sure how on phone other than this one

It wasn't her turn in the rotation, there has not been a rotation all year? In my opinion, It was probably a different look for Highlands. They have seen Shack every time and a different look is good at times. I see right now that Brossart has no team Dynamics at all. I'm not sure what has brought them down, but it is sure noticeable. Even my DD went out there last night and looked like she had not fire in her at all, and that's not her. I hope the team gets it all together soon, they don't have much time left. They have 2 Seniors that are very good Leaders, maybe that will pull them out of their funk.

Her off season workouts must be paying off, 350 squat max and 145 bench for reps of 5, not bad.....Oh and BTW, Thanks to Milts dad for looking at Shelby and saying "This is going to be a HR Shelby, I know it, I can feel it". Nice call sir, nice call. Great overall team effort, Birds are looking a lot crisper than early on, outfield is coming together nicely. Conner today, Notre Dame Thursday, Ryle Friday. Big week!!
