Thats too bad imo. With the Ladybirds playing a schedule that a college team couldnt win this yr they sure could have used her knowledge of the game, her passion for the program and the girls and more importantly her communication skills with the girls.
Coach Kerns has a tall task on his hands this yr but he is an excellent coach and knows the game as well as anyone and the Birds will be just fine.

Maybe he could bring his better half out of retirement to help out this yr

    Default Brossart In 10th

Nice thing for Bishop Brossart this year is that NCC and Highlands are out of the District and the Region. They are replaced in the District by Calvary and Scott. Then when you make it to the Region you don't have to face St. Henry, Notre Dame, Boone Co. or any 9th Region Teams. In the All A Tourney this year Brossart wins automatically and then will play the NCC/Holy Cross winner one game to go to state in Frankfort.

What about St. Henry? Are they not in the 9th region for soccer? They are one of the best teams year in and year out in NKY and they are a Class A team.

I was referring to the All A, hence the bolded section. You mentioned Brossart wins automatically and then will face NCC/Holy Cross winner to go to state. Wouldn't St. Henry be included in with NCC and Holy Cross? Just asking the question because I would assume St. Henry may be the favorite.

Thanks BGH. I would be surprised if St. Henry didn't play in the All A. I know they choose not to in Volleyball because of another tournament with better competition that they usually play in during the same weekend as the All A state. Maybe they do the same thing in soccoer, but I would be surprised just because they would have a good shot at winning an All A state championship in both boys and girls. Then again that may not be a goal of theirs. Their girls team did just win an overall state title in 2010.

Your kidding right, name me a bad soccer player that scores goals. It is by far the most difficuit thing in the game to do. I agree good defense wins but if you can't score you can't win. Ask almost any coach if they would rather have a stud defensive player or a stud goal scorer and I am pretty sure they would pick the offensive player.

The article says players to watch out for not the 15 best players in the area.

Both previous posts have truths to them. There will always be good players left off of a list like this and there will always be players from non soccer schools, who play against mostly other non soccer schools, that make the list because they score a lot of goals against easy competition. That said, a bad player would not score lots of goals even against easy competition. That said, there are a lot of top scorers each year from non soccer schools, who might not even start if they played at a school like Highlands, Cov Cath, NCC, St. Henry, NDA etc...
