    Ryle 60 Holy Cross 58

Ryle survives a dizzying comeback by Holy Cross. Key to beating Ryle evidently is keeping Maddie Scherr off the floor. Holy Cross outscored Ryle by 19 (!) in the 4th quarter to close to the final 2 point margin when Maddie Scherr fouled out with 5 minutes to go.

A furious 4th quarter rally by Holy Cross falls 2 points short. I thought Crittendon and Douthit were great for Ryle. Holy Cross' lone senior Bailee Harney was terrific with 21 points and led the big 4th quarter rally.

Good luck to her at Bellarmine next year.

Unofficial scoring from Holy Cross Radio.

    HC - 10 4 16 28 - 58
    Ryle - 23 11 15 11 - 60

    HC -
    Harney 21
    Thomas 8
    Crigler 8
    Bradshaw 8
    Simpson 4
    McClendon 4
    Bezold 3
    Chames 2

    Ryle -
    Douthit 15
    Crittendon 14
    Schwartz 11
    Scherr 8
    McGregor 6
    Johnson 2
    Bishop 2
    Glore 2

Am I correct that both teams return most of their lineup next year?

Harney is only senior for Holy Cross.

    Correction to Holy Cross scoring.

Bradshaw had 10 and McClendon had 2.

    Good luck to Ryle!

Was very surprised by this game. Ryle ran out to a nice lead and even had many members of their JV in at the end of the half before HC turned up the pressure and got back into the game in the 2nd half and having a very good 4th quarter and almost pulling out the upset. I think that for Ryle to be successful going forward they have to keep the pressure on and play to win and not to lose.

HC returns all of their roster minus B. Harney. Should make a nice run next year if the younger girls return. Will they all return to the court?

Is there some insight to some not returning?

No insight from me but nothing will surprise me in high school sports these days.

Best of luck to Bailee Harney next year at Bellarmine. She played a great game last night and made us Holy Cross supporters proud. There is never a good way to go out your senior year as there is only 1 team to win their last game, but she went out on a high even in defeat.

I have heard rumblings but will wait to see what happens.

Great come back by Holy Cross against a very good Ryle team.

This was a wow game! Ryle up big thinking they would win easily to then the next thing HC battled back to almost win. I agree, anything can happen at this time of the year!

It just seems like transfers are common place now a days.
