Ryle 2012/2013
Basketball season for 2012/2013 should provide another exciting year! What should we expect from Ryle? Remember, please be constructive.

Ryle should have a goos year. They have big shoes to fill with Jenna gone. 9th will be extremely tough with Conner and Boone.

Obviously they will not be able to replace Crittenden, but the Smith girl will be very good, the one that plays softball. She will be a force in the middle and is only going to be a sophomore this year. I know they lost Cheesman too but they have a couple nice guards coming back too and Oliverio as well. It will definitely be a tough district as usual with Ryle, Boone and Conner.

I heard rumblings that Smith was transfering any truth to that? Additionally, I wouldn't call her a force just yet still needs some develpoment but tons of upside!

IMO she will definitely be a force in the middle, and if I were a betting man I would say it will be this year. Have heard the same rumor about her transfering but assume it is just that, a rumor.

Au contraire mon frere, it is more than rumor. Boone County High School is in line for a nice addition to hoops, as well as, softball.

She had fun with Taylor this weekend & thought you were pretty funny. NCC would be on the short list too if wasn't so far.

This is like the third thread that names kids transferring to Boone County. How does this keep happening? It happens here in Ohio with certain coaches, but at some point doesn't someone have to stand up to it?

With all these supposed transfers to BC, Coach Stamm just sits back and licks his chops. With Ryle getting weaker and Cooper being down, his road to regionals just gets easier!

I don't know how it keeps happening in other situations but I can tell you facts in this one. This girl would rather stay & play at Ryle but there are circumstances that occurred last season that affected her overall well being. So therefore she is being removed from that environment.

I don't have adog in the fight but it seems like way too often players from Ryle, Conner, and Cooper transfer to BC. In Ohio you must change residence or sit out a year...that would be one frustrating district to coach in...I know it's old news but just a head scratcher to me....

She may have to sit out a year but it's the price one pays for doing what is right. It's up to the KHSAA as to whether the kids sit or don't, not the schools

Sounds like there there is something in the environment that compromises the learning experiance. In the case of bullying or harassment of any kind, a transfer is completely understandable and legitimate. I do empathize though, when the benficiary is the same program over and over and you have to compete with that program.

I may be wrong but if the kid has varsity experience, doesn't the AD. Have to signa release or they sit out a year? I hope nothing is wrong with this young lady and her situation and I hope whatever is best for her happens....

Yes a release has to be signed by the school the student previously played varsity for whether they agree with it or not. They can attempt to stop the athlete from being granted eligibility. However, the decision ultimately belongs to KHSAA.
Thank you, this move is the best thing for her at this point.

Are you sure the transfer destination is BC? Have heard ND is in the conversation as well.

Back to the thread on hand though....Ryle will be fine. Have some good talent that will get the chance to shine this year & I hear there's some talent coming up from Gray that's good size.
