I sat through this titanic struggle. It was hard to watch Notre Dame's half court zone offense....brutal! They didn't try to get the ball inside that much. On the rare occasion that they did get the ball inside the bigs for ND couldn't catch the ball. For the most part all they did is pass the ball around the perimeter to try and get Martin a shot. It was like watching the movie Groundhogs Day..

As I read these threads it sounds like it was ND who didn't play well for a number of reasons, the coach did a bad job. How about NCC played them very well and made it hard for them to get good looks, if your a defensive minded person then you would have liked this game. The credit goes to NCC for playing great defense and making the most out of their opportunities. Bottom line is the better team won.

I watched this one also. IMO ND was very content to run 2 or 3 minute sets on offense. I honestly think that was the whole game plan run clock as much as possible on the offensive end. Not taking away from NCC's defense they were terrific but ND was not running sets in the first minute and a half of possessions to get shots they were killing clock. Right or Wrong that appeared to be the strategy. A clear attempt slow this game way down and it may have been the right approach. Once NCC got up by I think it was 4 or 5 ND had to speed up the pace of the game and that was Game Over!!

a 5 point second half has to be an NDA record. I missed due to a Heath issue, probably a good thing.

Hope this wasn't a dress rehearsal for stall ball in the 9th region tourney. No one needs another ND/Highlands game like a few years ago.
