Great game in the Fort. Stapleton buries 28 footer to send it into overtime, Barth with two free throws to win it in OT.

Anyone without their blue goggles on knows what happened tonight at the Fort.

Yes. CampCo has a really good team but this may not have been their best game. Have to credit HHS game plan that was executed very well. Didn't let best shooters get good looks, played aggressive and kept game close. CampCo never got a long run except when they went from 20-18 to 28-18 but HHS closed back quickly.
Losing Schwarber in 4th hurt CC but game was close with & W/out her. Bottom line, HHS didn't back down and stayed with plan to end w/ Barth playing great game to finish line. Didn't flinch when they were behind in OT.
Exciting game to watch, shot by Stapleton was awesome, CC rebounded well by tipping balls to keep them alive, needed someone else besides Clos /Schwarzenegger/Stapleton to get hot but it didn't happen. CC pressed whole game but didn't get many TO.
Give credit where it's due.... this may not be result in rematch but today HHS executed well enough to pull upset.

Great recap, and Highlands definitely played the best they can possibly play. Hopefully they can get up for the regional tournament the same way.
The bottom line though is- it was a two point overtime win - with 12 fouls on the Camels in the first half and 6 on the HHS. 13 fouls on the Camels 2nd half and 7 on the HHS.
Highlands was in the bonus the better part of two quarters, Campbell was in the bonus for one shot in overtime.
After the Mercer County loss there was not one mention of unbalanced officials. But this game, sorry. Highlands has been barely above average all year, CC has been dominant. HHS should feel good about getting the W, but not that good all things considered. They shot 4 times as many foul shots and don't tell me it was because the dominant team is a bunch of hacks, and the decent team is not.

Highlands sat in a zone, camels are aggressive full court. You have to expect more fouls and coach it. Have a bench that can get in and produce as if foul trouble isn’t an issue. Quit whining, it was a good game. Refs don’t care but may be inconsistent if that’s your issue. May have had a bad day,,, oh well.
Look camels are good but need to take as a learning lesson and figure out zone/help defense.
Love watching them get out like a boys team.
Foul in regulation with 4 sec left and get a rebound,,, game over.

This may be a good loss for camels. Think the parents on here had already printed state title shirts and were planning the parade. Been a lot of chest pounding and gloating about look how great we are. But it appears the blueprint is getting out on how to beat them. They are honestly a 3 man team in games that stay close. Those 3 are going to take 85% of shots and score 85% of the points. Teams are going to start taking one or 2 of these players away on defense as they see others aren't going to step up. If you have solid enough guards to handle their press it makes them work a lot harder to score. Highlands and Conner can handle the ball and both caused camels trouble. As far as this game goes the fouls like was said are going to obviously be different for a team pressing all day compared to the one falling back into a zone. You press a lot your going to commit fouls against a quality opponent who doesn't allow you to just take the ball with bad dribbling and passes. Really hate the refs stuck it to us reason for losing. Tip your cap to the other team and learn from it.

The Camels have to have others step up, no doubt.

It is okay, just second loss. You learn and move on. They will bounce back, Jamie nee Walz executed a good game plan. Camels will find a way to be better against the zone.

Camels still one of the top teams in the state. Just hard to be a veteran coaching staff when their players execute the plan. Nice win for the birds..

Sacred Heart and Mercer County are the two best teams in the state! Unless KHSAA screws it up and puts their regions together, they should meet in title game barring an upset!
